Taking this opportunity, Auntie Lilly would like to introduce and recommend some of the best places to treat your family, friends and business associates to Buka Puasa treats in this holy month of Ramadan over this period of togetherness. With this month being the Ramadan season, I decided to feature a post on the Ramadhan buffets that I have tried throughout these last few months.

In this holy month of Ramadan, it's time to reflect on the importance of family, seeking forgiveness, and gather for a hearty and authentic Malaysian meal at restaurants and hotels all over the Klang Valley. Diners will be spoilt for choice, thanks to a variety of restaurants at hotels offering a range of culinary delights, serving dishes that are synonymous with the feasting traditions, reminding diners of good old home cooking leading up to the celebration.


Malaysian loves their buffets especially during this exciting festive season where the vibrant flavours and aromas of Malaysian cuisine come to life at live cooking stations at the restaurants, rotation set menus to mimic eating among the stalls, serving a feast of local favourites of such as bubur lambuk, satay, mee rebus, murtabak, asam laksa and kebabs.

Here goes my list of restaurants to check out for endless variety, promotions, big savings and most of all, a hearty and mouth-watering Ramadan offerings!

1) Bangi Golf Resort Restaurant @ Bangi Golf Resort Bandar Baru Bangi Selangor

For the month of Ramadhan, Bangi Golf Resort Restaurant proudly presents their signature Buffet Ramadhan from 21st of June 2015 till the 15th of July 2015. HALAL certified by Jakim, Bangi Golf Resort or known as BGR is one of the very few gold resorts in Malaysia to receive this accreditation. Well loved for its variety and quality, BGR's Buffet Ramadhan offers sumptuous spread of up to 200 selections!

Prices start at RM 55 nett for adults and RM 27 nett for children. The buffet spread features popular Malay, Western and Oriental cuisine favourites.

2) Chakri Palace Royal Thai Cuisine @ Putrajaya, Pavilion KL & KLCC

Chakri Palace Royal Thai Cuisine has rolled out a delectable Buffet spread in conjunction with Ramadan. Themed 'Dinner Buffet ~ Tantalizing Tastes Of Thailand' with a good mix of local and Thai delicacies to suit everyone's palate. Diners can choose to dine at any of Chakri Palace famous outlets at Suria KLCC, Pavilion KL or Alamanda Putrajaya. Break fast during Ramadan in a splendid way with an interesting spread of traditional Thai and Malay cuisine with a unique twist, in two different menus.

3) Palm Garden Hotel @ IOI Resort City

With the Ramadan month just around the corner, Palm Garden Hotel and team is geared to serve our guests a delicious Ramadan buffet with offerings from our heritage thus being called 'Ramadan Warisan' at IOI Resort City Putrajaya. The buffet will be available for all to enjoy from 18 June until 15 July 2015.

In conjunction with the Holy Month of Ramadhan, Première Hotel celebrates a nostalgic Hari Raya, aptly themed 'Memori Bersama Tan Sri P. Ramlee' by offering a unique blend of traditional Malay cuisine infused with local and Mediterranean flavours such as Ketam Masak Kari, Siput Sedut Masak Lemak Betik Muda, Ikan Patin Masak Lemak Tempoyak, Ayam Percik Kota Laksamana and Daging Rendang Tok among others. Senior Sous Chef Mohd Rosnan has come up with a menu to bring back tasty dishes that remind diners of good old meals from the kampung together with the legend favourites dishes such as Ketam Masak Kari, Asam Laksa and Ikan Goreng.

From 18 June to 21 June 2015 and 13 July to 15 July 2015, the Ramadhan Buffet is priced at RM 82 nett (Adult) or RM 73 nett for Golden Citizens and children between the ages of 6 to 12. From 19 June to 12 July 2015, the Ramadhan Buffet is priced at RM 103 nett (Adult) or RM 73 nett for Golden Citizens and children between the ages of 6 – 12.

Soi23 ~ Soi Twenty Three Restaurant at Pacific Regency Hotel Suites in Kuala Lumpur is offering a smorgasbord of 100 traditional Malay cuisines to mark Ramadhan. ‘Memori Selera Desa’ boasts of six menus rotated daily featuring food from various states, with over 100 selections you will be hard pressed on which you should feast on.

GOBO Chit Chat at Traders Hotel KLCC is pulling out all the stops this Ramadan with a seasonal menu of Asian and Western flavours in its restaurants. From 18 June to 16 July 2015, GOBO Chit Chat will be having its 'Selera Malaysia Buffet Dinner' promotion, in conjunction with a time when Malaysians gather their families and friends to celebrate love and friendships.

Sunway Putra Hotel Kuala Lumpur has rolled out a tantalising buffet spread in conjunction with Ramadan. It is not every day a chef will cook his or her mother's best kampung family dishes to serve his or her diners, but the team at Sunway Putra Hotel Kuala Lumpur did just that with the theme 'Dari Dapur Ummi' ! A dynamic group of Specialty Chefs that will prepare local crowd favourites with more than over 100 authentic taste traditional dishes to whet the appetite creating nostalgia memories for local and traditional food lovers.

Aptly themed, 'Dari Dapur Ummi', the master chefs of our hotel will present dishes that are not only traditional and loved by many, but each dish will feature special ingredients and recipes that were lovingly taught by their own mothers. How awesome as each chefs will prepare each individual dishes with 'Flavours In Tribute To Their Mothers' .....

Sunway Putra Hotel’s 'Dari Dapur Ummi' buffet will be available daily from 6.30pm to 10.30pm from 22 June to 16 July 2015. Priced at RM 138 nett for adults and RM 69 nett for children between six and 12 years old.

One dines for free for every group of 10 while children below the age of five also dine for free. Mothers above the age of 60, will be able to enjoy a 50 percent discount from the original price.
