TOMMY THONGCHAI, a Thai gastro bar serving a wide selection of Asian fusion cuisine and cocktails bringing diners a new dimension with the clever combination of flavours and ingredients in the modern Thai fusion cuisine.

Many must be wondering who's Tommy Thongchai? Is this the name of the owner? Well, this catchy name 'Thongchai' comes from one of Thailand's famous celebrity - Thongchai "Bird" McIntyre, also known as  Bird Thongchai, a Thai-Scottish pop singer and actor, considered to be Thailand's No.1 superstar!  I bet the owner must be a great fan of this superstar...

Newly opened in February this year, Tommy Thongchai, a gastro bar and restaurant aim to cater to diners who want the best of both worlds, with tastes of Thai and Japanese together in a dish, they're all set to tingle the senses of our palates.

The tagged name 'A Thai Drinking Experience', the menu caters very nicely to Tommy Thongchai's blend of Thais and Japanese fusion dining which complements their long list of jovial beverages such as whiskeys, gins, rums, vodkas, shooters, mojitos, mocktails, cocktails and craft beers to you tummy happy and boozy!

Well, thanks to the wonderful invitation, I was at the Tommy Thongchai with my family to try out some of Thai-licious array of dining offerings.

Let your palates travel through a plethora of Thai classics and fusion dishes at Tommy Thongchai – where every dish is carefully crafted, with warm and genuine Thai hospitality embrace each dining experience.

 
Some of their finely-curated menus include comforting classics such as Pork Trotter Rice, Baked Mac & Cheese, Pad Kee Mao Noodles, Krapao Pork Burger and Moo Ping.

 Tommy's Platter

This scrumptious extra-large size sharing platter is an absolutely sinful porky treat to go with alcoholic drinks. An all-in-one platter with 9 food items from the menu, this is a great platter to order and worth-trying if you want to taste their Bar Bites menu at one go!

 
Tender, Juicy Texture Of Moo Ping Skewers

Served on a large wooden tray, you'll find Moo Ping skewers, fried calamari, fried pork belly, fried pork riblets, Chiang Mai sausages, pulled pork fries, Luncheon meat fries with Tongchai's nachos served with pork ragout.  

Thumbs up to Tommy Thongchai's perfectly grilled Moo Ping Skewers. This is a MUST-TRY, simply one of the best I ever a long time ago. It gets addictive and you simply can't stop at one, order them from the menu at RM 5 per skewer for the taste of heaven!

Thongchai's Mango Salsa Nachos ~ This is a great sharing platter for those looking for some small bites to munch while chilling at the bar. 

Crispy fried wonton skins drizzle over with tangy coriander aioli and topped with zesty mango salsa. Oh yes, eat it fast as this appetiser can't keep well as the wonton skins get soggy fast once the aioli starts soaking in.

Well, if you're into sausage and bun, this could be a great food item to try. Thongchai's Chilli Dog ~ A fusion dish inspired from the original 'Chilli Dog', an American classic favourites of grilled hot dog on a bun.  

Thongchai's Thai version comes with a big fat juicy and flavoursome Chang Mai sausage, smothered in pork ragout, sprinkled with chopped scallions and chillies, served with Thongchai's fries on the side.
