I had the pleasure this year to taste Purple Cane's range of mooncakes in various taste and flavours. Over the years, mooncakes have evolved where the various flavours of mooncake and shapes have become more prominent, into a wide variety and combination of flavours that encompass bold, new taste and textures, just like Purple Cane's selections of mooncakes for this year 2020.

Teh Kurang Manis Mooncake

With their first-ever Tea Mooncake in Malaysia, from Purple Cane in 1998, these healthy Mid-Autumn treats are bound to win the hearts of even the most health-conscious, given that the mooncakes are neither too sweet nor too savoury, are low in fat content and contain no preservatives. Truly a refreshing treat for a festival widely celebrated for the young and old.

Purple Cane's mooncake pastry crust is made from fine powder form of tea leaves where it's mixed with other ingredients to form the pastry crust. It is a perfect complement to delicious fillings such as red bean paste, lotus paste and assorted nuts.

Purple Cane's Tea mooncakes with Cantonese style pastry crust and filling in addition to the refined and elegant green tea mooncake, the new variants are made with black tea, oolong tea, green tea and puer tea. Mooncakes with added tea leaves is a real pleasure-full of flavour and delicate taste, they are rich in plant fibre, hence, promoting health and beauty.
