For me, these 'Ong Lai Tarts' - pineapples tarts are one of my favourites Chinese New Year's delicacies that I truly look forward to savouring them during the festive celebration. My kind of a really good and delicious pineapple tart is the one that melts in the mouth with soft and crumbly pastry - not too crunchy and the pineapple filling should be of the perfect texture, not too sweet and with a hint of sourish flavour and colour-wise is a golden yellow and not dark brown.

Well, having said that, Swee Bee premium Pineapple Tarts was one of those traditional tarts sets itself apart from the commercial ones sold at the hypermarkets. I find Swee Bee's pineapple tarts come with sweet, fresh and juicy pineapple filling. The entire piece of delicacy melts in the mouth with a smooth and savoury taste balanced with a buttery texture.

The sweetness of the pineapple filling and the aroma of the buttery crust lingers with a pleasant aftertaste. The pineapple jam isn’t too sweet as well and the only problem I have with this is just how delicious they are because it’s hard to stop at just one.

These are not just any pineapple tarts. Swee Bee premium Pineapple Tarts are made from Baker Dave - using his mom's recipe that melts in your mouth.

Baker Dave Posting With Swee Bee Pineapple Tarts

These traditional tarts are inspired by Swee Bee's (Baker Dave's Mum) original recipe of buttery pastry and pineapple fruits to create a nostalgic and delicious pineapple tart, evoking happy childhood memories of mum's favourite treats.

 Swee Bee Café

Hence, Swee Bee Café is named in honour of Baker Dave’s mum, who is known among many of her friends, relatives and family members, for making delicious buttery and crumbly pineapple tarts using recipes which had been handed down through generations. As a child, Baker Dave proudly helped his mum bake these tarts.

Using Swee Bee’s recipe, which contains no additives or chemically derived ingredients, Baker Dave moulded these tarts into square shapes, representing increasing wealth in a balanced, stable and safe manner.
To Baker Dave, however, it is not just a pineapple tart. The tarts he makes represents the nostalgic and heart-warming moments of sharing his time with his mum in the kitchen of their home.
