Follow me as you feast your eyes on some of the featured dishes that I sampled during my food-tasting session at Cafe Mint recently.
Treasure Platter
An impressive starter dish, Treasure Platter ~ features 4 variety of mouth-watering selection of beancurd rolls with fish paste and meat paste. All four variation is truly good on its own and chef did a good job working up our appetite for the next dish that day.
Chinese Chicken Herbal Consommé
Next up is the Chinese Chicken Herbal Consommé, a soothing and nutritious soup to warm our tummy. Chef puts in long hours to brew the broth with chicken and a host of Chinese herbs to extract the natural flavours resulting in a sweet-tasting full-of-flavour traditional herbal soup that's good to the last spoonful!
Steamed Fish Fillet with Nyonya Sauce
Fish lovers can choose this Steamed Fish Fillet with Nyonya Sauce from the mains - seafood selection. You will enjoy the chunky pieces of the boneless fish fillet - flaky and fresh with the flavourful house made Nyonya Sauce.
Buttermilk Prawns
For me, I would definitely go for this impressive-looking Buttermilk Prawns dish for the festive celebration. Prawns are a must-have dish for Chinese New Year for its auspicious reason as prawn in Cantonese is called 'Har', hence the word represents happiness - the sound of laughing as in "Ha! Ha!"
Definitely a crowd-pleaser especially with the generous serving portion for 10 pax in this fresh and succulent dish of Buttermilk Prawns.
Chinese Lemon Chicken
Moving on, we had Chinese Lemon Chicken from the Chicken Main selection. The boneless thigh is deep-fried to perfection just right so that the meat is not too dry, retaining the right texture with juiciness for eating, and the mild zesty concoction of lemon sauce is relatively mild allowing diners to enjoy the chicken itself.
Kung Pao Chicken
Stir-Fried Broccoli in Oyster Sauce
The Stir-Fried Broccoli in Oyster Sauce dish is a good break from the seafood and meat dishes. Chef has added in a variety of mushrooms to enhance the taste and texture of this dish.
Chinese Longan with Snow Fungus
The dessert formed a perfect ending to the night with a refreshingly cool treat of Chinese Longan with Snow Fungus.
Assorted Fresh Fruits
If the sweet dessert does not appeal to your non-sweet tooth, do pick the healthy fresh fruits to end your meal.
