Ombak Kitchen with its flagship restaurant in Bukit Jelutong, Shah Alam has been around for a while and has opened up their latest outlet right here in the heart of the city - Bangsar Kuala Lumpur reaching out to all Cajun seafood lovers.
Dining at Ombak Kitchen is easy with ample parking space at this strategical location facing the main road thus making your dining experience a convenient one.
Air-flown daily fresh, lip-smacking seafood such as Extra Large XL Live crabs, Canadian Red Lobster, Alaskan King Crabs, Extra-large Prawns, Crawfish Baby Lobsters, Mussel, Hamaguri Clams, Snow Crab Leg and Squid awaits diners with a big appetite to indulge with their loved ones and friends.
A great way to savour the seafood with friends and family us by having a wide selection of them served Cajun-style on the table.
Dining without cutlery is unusual but at Ombak Kitchen, it is practically celebrated. The experience is fun using hands to eating shellfish, the peeling or the cracking crab claws to reveal the juiciest flesh before tasting the sauce that's dripping off the crab meat!
This six-months-old seafood restaurant prides itself on serving Cajun-style cuisine with a catchy tagline of 'PAKAI TANGAN JER' which practically means 'USE YOUR HANDS ONLY'.
The dishes, separated in bags, will be brought to diners in a bucket and served on a sheet of paper covering the tables as no plates are needed here.
Diners are kept clean by wearing a bib with their hands immediately getting messy digging into a variety of shellfish.

Scrumptiously Sociable Sea-lections
At Ombak Kitchen, chefs in the kitchen will prepare your seafood by selecting the best and freshest selection and cooked in your favourite style, be it the signature OMBAK CRAZY CAJUN SAUCE, CHEEZY ZESTY LEMON SAUCE, BUTTERMILK SAUCE, CREAMY TOMYAM SAUCE or SPICY CHOCOLATE SAUCE.
OMBAK CRAZY CAJUN SAUCE is their signature and customers' favourite, and it matches anything really.
All seafood in Ombak Kitchen is prepared in the healthiest method using either by steaming or boiling to maintain the freshness. So, you do not have to worry about having the seafood being deep-fried or wok-fired prior to serving here.
What worked up my appetite that night were the seafood prepared with the Ombak Crazy Cajun Sauce with an addictive flavour rich in herbs and spices that made it pretty fragrant.
Another interesting fact is that at Ombak Kitchen, diners get to choose the level of spiciness to suit their palate. They certainly do not stint on the spice factor here, which is available in varying level of heat from mild to medium to the scorching PEDAS!
Test your spiciness threshold with the three levels of spiciness with Level One 'Pedas Biasa Jer', Level Two 'Pedas-Pedas' and the spiciest at Level Three 'Boom Super Pedas'.
The menu offers up to FOUR EXCITING COMBOS catering to the number of diners from a minimum of 2 pax and up to a larger group of five pax. Dining here is easy as you just need to pick your favourite combo or opt for a la carte style, pick your favourite sauces and level of spiciness.
Complete your seafood-licious meal with add-on items such as potato, corn, broccoli, chicken sausages, button mushroom and perhaps some rice or garlic bread to mop up all the delicious sauces.
Our 3 Bowls Of Warm Rice
Remember to mop up all the tasty sauces with the rice for a more full-filling experience at Ombak Kitchen and if you are a rice person, let me tell you that one bowl is never enough - 'Kena Nasi Tambah Satu'!
Combo 1 for RM 199
We took the Combo 1 for RM 199 that offers a great combination of five variety of succulent fresh seafood of one XL Crab, XL Prawns, Mussel, Hamaguri Clams and Squid. This combo is good for 2 to 3 pax.
The tender crab flesh was complemented by the fiery gravy that also goes great with warm rice.
I enjoyed the rich flavours of the Crazy Cajun Sauce together with the juicy and succulent freshness of all the seafood served especially the lip-smacking crabs. You will never get enough of this delight!
The flavours here certainly delivered with generous servings of mussels, clams, prawns, squid and of course, crabs.
This can be clearly seen in our now empty table leaving behind four tubs of the seafood shells in the rice tubs.
