One of the new players to the F&B scene is a newly opened FatBoi Tavern Bar & Pub, which opened its doors to customers more than 3 months ago on June 2020, thus making its mark on the map as a trendy chill-out restaurant bar.

Located in the affluent neighbourhood of Solaris Mont Kiara, this place is fast making its name in becoming a popular and thriving casual drinking spot for many city slickers. 

Fret not, if you are not staying around Kuala Lumpur, as FatBoi Tavern have another outlet located in the Klang Valley in SS2 Petaling Jaya ( No.80, Jalan SS2/60, SS2, 47300 Petaling Jaya ).

The Kaffir Lime & Asam Boi

The Kaffir lime & Asam Boi gaining popularity amongst patrons of both of their outlets with its distinct taste that gives a lovely balance between sweet and sour with the Gin kicking in as you sip. Take your pick from Lemongrass and Cucumber, Rosemary & Lemon Peel, Kaffir Lime & Asam Boi, Basil & Cucumber, Herbs and Spices and Tonic with Lemon - All are priced at a total steal at only RM15 Nett. So you know where you got to be! 
 
FatBoi Tavern at Solaris Mont Kiara also has a Mezzanine floor that caters to private parties, private events, product launches, training and more. They even have a pool table to keep you busy while you dine with them.

It was a night filled with good vibes, good drinks and good music. Be prepared for an extensive delightful 'Bar Nibbles' menu with over 12 Bites to choose from ranging from popular Nachos, Chicken Wings, Chicken Pops, Cheesy Fries, Piggie Fries and Boom Bilis, just to mention a few. During our tasting, we were ordered the choice picks of crowd favourites for sampling. I shall introduce them to the preference of my top picks.

 
 Honey-Chipotle

Kicking off with the bar bites, we had deep-fried Chicken Wings that was the crowd favourite. Everyone enjoyed the Spicy Sweet Honey Chipotle and Salted Egg Sauce coating the crispy, well-marinated and juicy chicken wings and drummettes.

What's I like about this dish is that chef did a good job with lightly battered wings without overdoing it with thick layered of coatings. This dish was gone in minutes with orders for the second - tasting so good with sweet and savoury enhancing the taste too. Remember to order this when you're here, okay!


Chicken 65
RM 15.80

Moving on to more chicken dishes, the Chicken 65 ~ Featuring chunky pieces of chicken breast meat coated in a special masala blend and pan-fried to perfection. But it didn't fare too well for our liking. 

This could be due to the lacking of the rich flavour and fragrant of the Indian herbs and spices in the marination process and should be better with thigh meat, the better choice for more tender and juicer texture.

Lamb Nachos
RM 21.80

Making up for the least better dish, there's this Lamb Nachos dish which gains top marks from my hubby who happens to be red meat - lamb lovers. Nachos is a simple dish served with melted Mozzarella and parmesan cheese and homemade salsa with the flavoursome minced lamb. 


Lamb Chop
RM 23.80

Dig into their mains menu featuring their juicy Lamb Chop and you are in for a meaty treat. Featuring one of the most prized and tender parts of the lamb, these succulents Australian lamb shoulder chops are grilled to perfection and served with straight cut fries with a choice of Mushroom black pepper or Rosemary sauce for the extra flavour!


Moving on to some real treats of Asian dishes ~ Masala Chic featuring a traditional Indian dish also known as 'Chicken Perathal' served with plain rice or baguette toast of your choice.
