I chanced upon this super cheap & value-for-money RM6 'Zhap Fan' or mixed rice shop during one of my outing to this part of the town in Parklane, Taman OUG at Old Klang Road Kuala Lumpur.
RM6 Take-All-You-Want 'Zhap Fan' Mixed Rice
Nowadays with rising cost of petrol and food prices, it's really not longer affordable to eat mixed rice or 'Zhap Fan' anymore. Many years ago, we used to call it the 'Economy Rice' but that's does not apply anymore. A simple '1 meat + 1 vegetable dish with rice' can easily be priced at RM5 or more, and if you're a big eater taking at least '2 meat + 1 vegetable dish + 1 egg/tofu' ~ this can chalk up to RM 7 or more! 😓😓😓

RESTORAN YUAN ZHI WEI Ori Taste Mix Rice is located at Parklane Taman OUG. OUG Parklane is a new residential cum commercial development in Old Klang Road vicinity. This part of the neighbourhood is quite dense with several 33-storey tower blocks residential units and shop offices.

RESTORAN YUAN ZHI WEI Ori Taste Mix Rice has newly opened in OUG Parklane at one of the green towers less than a month ago. I heard that this is their 3rd outlet with the 1st and 2nd in Sunway and Subang too. What's special about this particular mixed rice shop is that you need only PAY RM6 ~ TAKE-ALL-YOU-WANT But Just For One Time Only. So dining here makes so cheap & affordable as you are allowed to TAKE AS MUCH AS YOU WANT but FOR JUST ONE TIME.

For only RM6, diners can enjoy a variety of dishes on a 'TAKE-ALL-YOU-WANT Just For One Time Only' with a wide selections of dishes which feature meat dishes like stewed pork, ginger braised chicken, fried chicken wings/drumstick, fried fish, sweet & sour pork, curry chicken, braised pork belly with eggs as well as several types of eggs and tofu dishes.
The vegetarians are not forgotten here as they have veggies, tofu, and egg dishes to satisfy their palate. You will be spoilt-for-choices especially on the vegetable dishes as there were around 15 varieties of dishes available such as fried french beans, bean sprouts, ladies finger in belacan, kangkong, Chinese cabbage, sawi, bitter gourd, tomato in egg, stewed preserved mui choy, vegetable curry, pumpkin, long beans and much more.

They have almost 50 different dishes to choose from and diners can pick anything as much as they can without worrying about hurting the pocket. My hubby helped me and son to pick and heap all our favourite dishes - all into 1 plate without spilling!

Goodness me, this is crazy looking at my 'heaped mixed rice' but I was very hungry as I skipped lunch and having an early dinner on that day. Sure can sapu all! Here goes me my choices as follows:

If you are a chicken feet lovers like my hubby, then you must stir deep to scoop up your favourite chicken feets to go with your mixed rice.
Chinese Tea - Hot or Cold
All-in-all, the RM6 Zhap Fan is a thrifty way to indulge yourself crazy with more than 50 choices of dishes every day to delight diners. The buffet line with chafing dishes is refilled as soon as a dish runs out but I would suggest you go early for lunch treat as I noticed there are more choices for lunch than dinner. Lunch offerings are always better as all dishes are freshly cooked to be served for the day.You can tapau or take away but it'll costs you RM7 instead.
A Reminder To All - Not To Be Wasteful & Greedy
For me, this is certainly a very good offer, truly affordable and good value-for-money for those on a tight budget and loves Zhap Fan too. A reminder, though, do not be wasteful and greedy taking more than you can eat. Healthwise, I don't encourage you to eat like that all the time but doing this review is a challenge to me on how high I can stack my food - just for the fun and pictures taking!
Do come by to try it yourself - Tastewise, it's decent and nice (with an exception for the fried chicken as it's quite tasteless). Will I come back to try again? Maybe but I will go slow on the dishes going for 3 to 4 choices the next time and practice eating moderately!

Real crazy offer & good news for BIG-EATER! For just RM6, you can have everything in the mixed rice dishes for the day. Have FUN STACKING your food to see how much you can take but should not be a daily practice unless you are eating more vegetables than meat dishes! BON-APPETITE, my foodies friends :)
