KEMBARA DESA RAMADAN
Flavours of The Peninsular
The Buzz Restaurant
This year, in conjunction with the holy month of Ramadan, Premiere Hotel celebrates the "Kembara Desa" theme for a "Balik Kampung" ambience, by offering unique traditional Malay cuisine featuring delectable traditional spread from north to south in Peninsular Malaysia.
The thing about traditional food is that it brings back nostalgic memories. This is especially true if one has not tasted his or her family's kampung cooking for a while and it's hard to find flavours native to your state here in the city.
However, diners who are missing their states cuisines will be pleased to find comforting buka puasa dishes at Buzz Restaurant this year. Chef Mohd Rosnan gets diners acquainted with menus rotated daily featuring dishes from various states to please your palate.
"Kembara Desa" is Chef Mohd Rosnan's Ramadan offerings from its June promotion - featuring a number of savoury and sweet delights from various states. Some of the mouth-watering dishes are as follows:
Ketam Goreng Berlada Tanjung Malim
Apart from that, do look out for specialties of Perut Masak Lemak Rebung, Telur Dadar Cencaluk, Ikan Patin Masak Tempoyak, Ayam Masak Kicap Jawa, Guali Itik Seranti and last but not least, Seapt Masak Gangan Nenas.
The culinary experience is further enhanced with a myriad of delicacies from their 11 live action hawker stalls with special highlights as follows:
Roasted Whole Lamb
One of the hawker stalls to look out for is their Chicken Kebab section. I find the meat extremely flavoursome, well-marinated with the right amount of herbs and spices. For me, I ditch the pita wraps and just have grilled meat with salad and sauce.
Chef Rosnan's Recommendation
Laksa Belut Stall
Chef Rosnan is pretty excited wanting me to try his special noodles dish from Kuala Kedah. This is another tantalising dish of Laksa Belut from the northern states. A Kedah dish, its uses belut or eel as the main ingredient, which has a richer and heavier broth. It also provides a fuller sourish taste cooked with fresh herbs. I love the hint of sourness from the tamarind that pleases the palate.

Colourful & Healthy Spread of Kerabu & Salad
Dining at The Buzz Restaurant, they never fail to impress me with their The chef's recommendation is to start light with the salad and traditional fare of kerabu and ulam ulam kampung. Choose from the many varieties of zesty Kerabu Mangga, Kerabu Pucuk Paku among others. Apart from that, choose from some fresh western-style salad if the kerabu and ulam-ulam don't appeal to you.
