Pretz n' Beanz Cafe ~ Pretzel & Coffee Cafe @Solaris Mont Kiara

Malaysia's First Signature Pretzel Pizza

With a name that practically shouts out its pride in serving freshly baked pretzels and good gourmet coffee, Pretz n' Beanz is fast becoming a popular place to go to for a good cup of freshly brewed coffee and delicious pretzels.

What many do not know is that Pretz n' Beanz Cafe is the First in Malaysia to introduce its Signature Pretzel Pizza in town. This brilliant idea came about from its founder, Anna Chong who is foodie herself too. She wanted to serve something special, unique and different from the typical coffee and cakes cafes. The tasty all-time-favourite snack pretzel came to her mind and she thought why not having a coffee place that serves signature pretzels, pretzel pizza with freshly brewed coffees.

Trendy Cafe with Alfresco Dining

Having just opened in July this year, they have quite a good following with its customers coming back for its soft and savoury pretzels. Tucked within the affluent neighbourhood of Mont Kiara, this trendy cafe is fast becoming a popular place for chilling sessions with family and friends.

Casual & Relax Interior

The cafe's decor is simple - soothing, relax and casual environment for family and friends to gather and dine. A perfect place for a tete-a-tete with comfortable lounge area with sofas and couches, comtemporary dining space, coupled with a breezy al-fresco section, prefect for a weekend brunch.

Focusing on serving only quality good food to patrons, for every single dish featured in the menu Anna Chong makes sure it was the best version possible before she puts it on the menu. They takes pride in serving an array of pretzels variation and signature pretzel infused menu such as basil cheese pretzel, chocolate cookie crunch, apple cinnamon filled pretzel, sweet potatoes filled pretzel, chicken Hawaiian pretzel pizza and even an Al-Funghi Pretzel pizza among others.

Besides that, they also features a selection of house blend gourmet coffee, refreshing healthy juices and smoothies along with mouth-watering all day continental breakfasts and all day dining with pastas, soup and even burgers together with a wide variety of  fresh salads to tickle your taste buds. Dishes are all produced in the central kitchen, so diners can be assure of wholesome, delicious meals with no added preservatives.

Chai Latte, Green Tea Latte, Caffe Latte, Caffe Mocha
From top right (clock-wise)

Starting off with coffee, my hubby and I had Caffe Latte (RM 11.00) with recommendation from Anna from the beverage menu. It was smooth and pleasant, and I liked the creamy texture.

Anna Chong explains, "Our coffee are made from artisan roasted premium coffee beans brewed by our trained baristas. Using 100% Arabica coffee beans that are roasted in small quantity to ensure freshness and consistency of taste in every single sup served. The optimal temperature for brewing a great cup of coffee is at 60 degrees Celsuis. If the water temperature is too high, then over extraction occurs and the coffee tastes bitter"

Therefore, Pretz n' Beanz baristas brewed the coffee at the right temperature tastes sweet and flavorful, doesn’t burn your throat and doesn’t give you “coffee mouth.

Basil Cheese Pretzel
 RM 6.90
Basil cheese pretzel was baked-to-perfection, served warm being crusty on the outside while being super soft on the inside. Lightly flavoured with basil, I enjoyed eating it while munching on the slight burnt bits of the cheese which can be quite addictive.

Cinnamon Sugar Pretzel
 RM 5.90

I was simply 'head-over-heels' with this super awesome yummy Cinnamon Sugar Pretzel. Sitting deliciously on our table with its aromatic freshly baked cinnamon scent as it was served to us, it was devoured in minutes.

Again, Pretz n' Beanz lives up to my expectation for serving some of the softest and tastiest pretzel in town. I think everything boils down to using the quality ingredient coupled with the right techniques to come out with such savoury pretzel.

Sweet Potato Filled Pretzel

RM 10.90

One good thing leads to other... Next, we were served with Sweet Potato Filled Pretzel, a unique filled pretzel. It was an amazingly soft and fluffy pretzel stuffed with mashed sweet potatoes topped with cheese. I had the softest bites out of this stuffed pretzel as it was even better with the cheesy and savoury fillings spilling out on my first bite.

Great snack especially for those sweet potatoes lovers, and a definitely a MUST-TRY if you're a fan of all 3 - pretzel, sweet potatoes & cheesy cheese!

Hot Pepper Chilli Chicken Pretzel Pizza
RM 20.90 ~ 10" & RM 14.90 ~ 7"

A marriage made in heaven, this is a perfect combination of using a unique soft pretzel dough as the crust with pizza toppings to come out with the 1st ever Pretzel Pizza in town. Touted as the only cafe that bakes its own pretzel, this is a real winner with every one that night.

Incredibly soft and flavourful with generous toppings of chicken and cheese, this appetising pizza was gone within minutes. Loved the crust as it was still crispy but really soft on the inside. Price is a steal, won't burn a hole in your pocket as it costs only RM 20.90 which I believe you can't anywhere else in in KL/PJ.  And for that, it gets a thumbs up from me!

Al Funghi Pretzel Pizza
RM 21.90 ~ 10" & RM 15.90 ~ 7"

Mouth-Watering Vegetarian Pretzel Pizza
Vegan or vegetarian looking for healthy treat, should order this colourful pretzel pizza. Served on a pretzel dough loaded with combination toppings of cheese, fresh mushroom, olives, green and red peppers, I found it equally delicious, was nothing short of heavenly.

Healthy and delicious, packed with nutrients and flavour, this vegetarian pretzel pizza will compliment any meal. Light and crisp, great as a light meal especially for those on a diet.

Caramel Butter Thick Toast
RM 14.90

For desserts, we had a super size Caramel Butter Thick Toast. Incredibly sinful, it was a thick buttered toast topped with heap size of super smooth premium whipped cream and drenched with flavourful caramel butter. Sinfully delicious and a great comfort for those wanting to be happy and fat!

Sambal Seafood Pasta
RM 24.90
If pretzel is not your pick for that day, fret not. Pretz n' Beanz have got something better to tickle your taste buds.

Sambal Seafood Pasta is one of the favourite among their patrons. Chef's creation of something different, specially localised to Malaysia style to suit local taste. A real winner for me, the rich-flavoured sambal pasta gravy was bursting with delicious spicy flavours. You can taste the freshly blended ingredients that goes into the dish, definitely not a store-bought or ready-made paste.

Spicy Delight: Seafood Galore with Sambal Pasta

The prawns, clams and squid were fresh and succulent, so with everything in place this is one of the best place to go for some really tasty sambal seafood pasta. I'm definitely coming back here for more!

Royale Salmon Egg Benedict

RM 22.90

My Combo Pics of the Irresistible & Tempting Egg Yolks

I guess my pictures of the glorious breakfast set of Royale Salmon Egg Benedict tells it all. Totally delicious with the smoked salmon, a total of 10 slices (5 pieces@wrap) wrapped around the especially luscious looking poached eggs, this was one heavenly dish for those egg-y people.

By the way, 'Egg-y people' is a term I coined up to those who must have eggs on every single day without fail, just like my kids especially my eldest, Carmen. She loves eggs in any style ~ half- boiled, hard-boiled, poached, fried or steamed, so when she heard that I had this and it was super tasty, she's making plans to come and savour this special set all for herself, ah-ah ... no sharing this time!

Mean Green ~ RM 13.50

For drinks, Anna recommended me to order Mean Green, one of their healthy juices to go with my meal. With just a sip of the drink, I was immediately refreshed and energized. It felt like the juice gave me a boost, not to mention that it is also a great juice for detoxification. It's a concoction of apple, celery, cucumber, ginger root and lemon for the extra zing.
Keep Fit ~ RM 13.50

Here's another healthy juice ordered by daughter, Clarrisha. It's a special concoction of apple, celery, cucumber and carrot. She loves it, saying that it was a pretty healthy and good detox juice for her as she's still recovering from a cold. Refreshing and will definitely awake her senses on a great hot day!
