Break fast this Ramadan with authentic Malay cuisine at Bijan Bar & Restaurant  located in the heart of city centre of Kuala Lumpur. From now till July 23, chefs from Bijan will present more than 25 dishes every night as part of the Berbuka Puasa Buffet.

"There will be five rotating menus throughout the month, featuring a wide spread of kampung dishes to satisfy your taste buds," said Executive Chef Zulkifli, who has many  years of experience in the kitchen.

Bijan Berbuka Puasa Buffet is available daily from 6.30pm to 11pm until July 23

Contemporary Dining Setting
The rustic restaurant sets the stage for authentic Malay dining experience with its hardwood furniture and wood ceiling panels. Pleasant and calming ambience with indoor air-conditioned and outdoor garden courtyard, exquisite garden-like interiors complete with wooden beams and tea lights decor. Dim illuminations exude a sense of calm and  intimate place for a romantic dinner or gathering of family and friends.

Bar Counter
An escapade in the city to unwind with a glass of wine, entertain your guests, to relax before having a meal.

Kerabu Corner
After breaking fast with Arab dates, Malay kuih and variety of appetisers, guests can enjoy authentic kampung fare as well as the grill dishes. Diners can then move on to starters such as a selection of kerabu (Malaysia salads); Kerabu Daun Selom, Kerabu Nangka, Kerabu Sotong and Ulam-ulam to eat with sambal belacan or tempoyak (fermented durian paste) for the added kick.

Frying Station
At the live goreng-goreng or Frying Station higlights Malaysian snacks that one would commonly find on the streets. Indulge in crispy local snacks such as Pisang Goreng (Banana Fritters), Keladi Goreng (Yam Fritters), Epok-Epok (Potato Puff), Karipap (Curry Puff), Cucur Ikan Bilis ( Anchovies Fritters) among others.

Noodles & Soup Station
A live cooking station serving local hawker food such as Mee Kari (Curry Noodles) with condiment of bean sprouts, boiled eggs, beancurd slices, sotong, chicken, lime and julienned red chillies was also available. Guests can try out with Bijan's special Sup Rusuk Daging, a savoury beef bone soup cooked with herbs and spices.
Favourite Ayam Masak Merah & Signature Kambing Masak Hitam
These are two of the all-time favourite dishes that fares well and also a good combination to eat with nasi putih or nasi minyak.

Fresh Sotong Sambal Hijau & Succulent Kupang Goreng Serai

Masak Lemak Udang Negeri & Ikan Gulai Darat
The main dishes such as all-time-favourite Ayam Masak Merah, Kambing Masak Hitam, Sotong Sambal Hijau, Kupang Goreng Serai, Masak Lemak Udang, Ikan Gulai Darat are served in claypots to preserve heat and flavours.

Meaty grill of Beef & Chicken Satay together with Roast Lamb & Grilled Chicken Wings
A Ramadan buffet would not be complete without an action corner serving Malaysian favourite, satay and ketupat with kuah kacang (peanut sauce), sliced onions and cubed zuchinies. Satay lovers sould not miss out on the KL satay - where chicken and beef on skewers are prepared on the spot and grilled to tender, juicy perfection.

Everyone's favourite that night was simply the Beef Satay - the skewered beef fillets marinated in Chef Zulkifli's special spiced honey and grilled over charcoal fire, which was soft, tender and flavourful.

Selection of fresh prawns, squid, scallops, mussels & crabs
Bijan has also set up a live grilling station - where customers will be able to see the chefs at work. Diners can get a selection of seafood on ice, with green lipped mussels, scallops, prawns, squid and flower crabs too.

Grill Station
Over at the grill station, chefs whipped up grilled squid, prawns, mussels, scallops & crabs over slow charcoal fire.

Pucuk Paku Goreng Tahi Minyak
Another must-try was the Wild Fern Stir Fried with Chilli & Caramelized Coconut (Pucuk Paku Goreng Tahi Minyak). This dish is special for its rich aroma of kerisik and crunchy texture of the wild fern, which was very delicious, leaving you wanting more.

Do not missed the desserts, as a wide selection of enticing treats await you. My personal favourite was the Durian Cheesecake. Other delectable desserts include Bubur Jagung, Manisan Biji Nangka, pudding, fresh fruits, agar-agar and local delights.

Besides coffee and tea, refreshing drinks such as soya bean and chrysanthemum are also available to accompany the meal.

The Ultimate Durian Cheesecake from Bijan
The sweet and aromatic smell of the Durian D24 makes a nice end to a rich meal by refreshing the palate at Bijan. Sinfully rich cheesecake of mascarpone, cream cheese and generous portions of creamy durian on a chocolate biscuit base.

Nice Combination: Chocolate Durian Cake
Everyone's at the dinner table especially the guys was wowed over by the Chocolate Durian Cake. With durian melt-in-your-mouth sensation and rich chocolatey taste, these two goes hand in hand with each other, just like 'marriage make in heaven'.

Ice Kacang ABC Station
For a sweet ending, head over to the Shaved Ice Dessert counter to feast on Air Batu Campur (ABC).

 All Day Menu

Menu For the Drinks

As health and beauty comes hand in hand, IsMe Beauty Cafe's menu focuses only on serving nutritious, healthy and low calories food for its patrons. With an in-house nutritionist on hand, each dish is specially prepared with natural and freshest ingredients without compromising on the taste and value.

Mouthwatering Treats: Low Calories Desserts & Cakes

IsMe Beauty Cafe have its own in-house chef whipped up an array of light snack, desserts and pasta that are not only delightful, but also are low in fat and calories. Here, the food is prepared from scratch with emphasis given to imported ingredients and fresh produce. Diners can take their pick from the available guilt-free menu and indulge themselves with some delicious cakes and desserts.

Oreo Cheese Cake

My favourite pick of the day was the unassuming, Oreo Cheese Cake. Very smooth in texture, intensely rich dessert cheese, milky and slightly sweet, sometimes with small burst of the choco oreo bites in between.

 Mango Mille Crepe Cake

Mango Mille Crepe Cake was a winner too. I loved the light and refreshing flavour of the cake. Not too sweet which something I dread especially when tasting cakes. You can even taste the small pieces of fresh mango in between the soft and thin pieces of the crepe. Best enjoyed  with your favourite cup of coffee!

   Blueberry Cheese Cake

Next came the Blueberry Cheese Cake. Rich cake with the melt-in-mouth cheese topped with blueberries jam. I am not very fond of this type of cake as I do not have a sweet tooth for the topping of the blueberry jam.

Brownie Top up with Vanilla Ice cream

A personal favourite would be this heavenly dessert, Brownie Top up with Vanilla Ice cream. This warm dessert features warm chocolatey brownie topped with vanilla ice-cream and drizzled with hot chocolate sauce that had just the right amount of sweetness.

Affogato

Affogato literally means 'drowned' in Italian; was one of the outstanding dessert too. This coffee-based beverage comes with smooth vanilla ice cream topped with a shot of hot espresso. Such a simple concept but it tickles all the senses with flavour with contrasting temperatures, and the unmistakable aroma of freshly brewed espresso, unsweetened, of course.

Light but buttery croissant - Perfect match with coffee or tea

Tiramisu

Wrapping up the desserts tasting was none other than Tiramisu, a dessert synonymous with Italian cuisine. Made of light, sweet sponge cake, layered with whipped egg yolks and mascarpone cheese and flavoured with brandy. Strong with a distinctive aftertaste, this is one of the better tasting tiramisu I ever had.

 Spaghetti Chicken Bolognese

Moving on to the All Day Menu, there are 2 choices of the pasta dishes to choose from. Spaghetti Chicken Bolognese was my preferred choice rather than Creamy Mushroom Spaghetti.

Traditional Spaghetti Bolognese was really delicious, combined with the generous amount sauce, ground chicken, chopped tomatoes and cheese toppings too. I was told that the kitchen own special tomato pasta sauce was freshly made from scratch everyday using only fresh tomatoes instead of the commercial pasta sauce.

The moist, aromatic and flavourful pasta was well cooked, making it an easy, comfort food in terms of its quality and standard and for that, it gets a thumbs up from me!

Creamy Mushroom Spaghetti

On the other hand, I found the Creamy Mushroom Spaghetti kind of bland and not as creamy as it claimed to be. I was expecting something more creamy and rich milky flavour. A bit dry in fact, lacking in white cream sauce so basically I can't get to taste much of the flavour in the sauce. But I did enjoyed eating the button mushrooms though as they were quite fresh.

What's better than the first sip of a hot cup of coffee made just the way you like it? Well, a hot cup of coffee did double duty as fine art, you would enjoy it even more. At IsMe Beauty & Cafe, customers can relax and kick back over a delicious cup of coffee that's also beautiful.

Caffe Mocha

Many coffee aficionados out there, would come in for the creative handiwork, be satisfy both in taste for divine coffee and taste for the unique temporary art.

IsMe Signature

One of the amazing coffee designs created by Mr Tarick Tan which is a work of art with every drink.
Hazelnut Latte

A memorable piece of latte art is all about the interplay between the milk foam and the 'crema' of the espresso.

Creating tiny works of art in coffee cups in the form of a cute bear face.

Caffe Mocha

Mr Tarick Tan in complete focus creating his piece of art on a cup of coffee

By preparing both the espresso and milk foam just right, baristas can masterfully move the milk pitcher while pouring the milk into the coffee, thus creating these remarkable design of latte art.

Healthy Gynostemma Tea

Last but not least, if you're not an avid coffee drinker, fret not. You can opt to try out the special herbal tea called Gynostemma Tea. Better known as 'jiaogulan' or 'xiancao' in Chinese, this calming tea is best known as an herbal medicine, reputed to have a wide range of health-promoting benefits such as a powerful antioxidant, anti aging, aids digestive and strong anti fatigue effect.

The traditional way to enjoy gynostemma is to sip it as a tea. It has a slightly sweet, appealing taste and  has long been referred by the many as the "immortality herb". You can drink it in place of tea or coffee for its soothing effect and health benefits.

So if you're in Bintang Bukit looking for a good spot for a great cup of coffee, a charming place to anchor down, and time to enjoy the finer things, look no further. Isme Beauty & Cafe promises to deliver a truly great coffee experience in warm, friendly and relaxed environment.

TruDtox - Natural Herbal Cleansing Tea, Simple & Effective Way To Detox by FollowMeToEatLa

I was totally thrilled when asked to review TruDtox as I have been looking around for detoxing products in the market for quite a while. I wanted something that is safe to drink yet effective, contains natural products and gentle to my body. I have a few friends that share with me their bad experiences after drinking some detox tea, so I am quite cautious when it comes to choosing for health products for my detoxing programme. I would like to share my experience with you on my very 1st TruDtox Detoxification Program.

I choose to drink my first cup of TruDtox in the morning before breakfast. I brewed my tea bag in a cup of hot water for 20-30 minutes before drinking. It turned brownish in colour and the longer you soak it, the shade will be darker.

The nice smelling aromatic tea tasted like chamomile tea and has a light pleasant herbal flavour. I brewed the tea bag for a second time and it got a lighter taste and smell.

Individual Tea Sachet

I experienced mild stomach discomfort 4-5 hours after drinking my first cup of TruDtox. It was effective for me as I felt a strong urge to empty my bowels later in the afternoon. I do not suffered from constipation and my bowels are quite regular as I usually cleared my system once a day; every morning right after my light breakfast of coffee with toast.

On the first day, I needed to empty my bowel 3 times in a time span of 6 hours. Phew! The stool went from soft to watery almost like diarrhoea on the last time. I also need to urinate more often within the first hour of consumption. The next day, I felt lighter and it did relieve tummy bloat too.

I stick to a vegetarian diet on the days of detoxification. I took TruDtox on an interval of every two days - 3 times for the whole week, in the span of seven days.

On the third day, a few hours later I experienced the same stomach discomfort and head straight to the toilet. By the way, I also make sure that I am not going out or anything on these detox days, I do not want to run around looking for toilet like a mad woman. After the 2nd time, I felt better and lighter, maybe it’s the toxin slowly exiting from my system.

Fifth day, was the same routine for me. Drank my TruDtox tea on empty stomach before having a light breakfast with Nescafe. This time, the urge came only in the late afternoon around 9 hours later. Anyhow, the stomach pain gone right after going to the loo and I just have an urge to empty my  bowel for 2 times till late at night that day.

Overall, I was satisfied and happy with the product as it aids my body detoxification, works gently and does not not contain any harsh laxatives that can cause bowel dependency. On the other days, (not on TruDtox) I maintained my bowel regularity to once a day only. I shall continue to use TruDtox on a weekly basis as part of my health practice to cleanse and exfoliate from the inside.

Made from an organic blend of high quality  botanicals herbs and floras that is safe  and gentle to my body, I found TruDtox to be effective in helping me to reduce tummy bloats and digestive discomforts too. Unlike colon-damaging laxatives, TruDtox works on the body gently, naturally and gradually to help you maintain healthy regularity and smooth bowel movement.

Safe and natural, it is not addictive and does not contain chemicals, stimulants or senna (also known as cassia senna). Use one to three times a week, TruDtox is ideal for maintaining results after a cleanse or for overall digestive system.

A light aromatic tea, Swiss-formulated TruDtox is a comprehensive fusion of organically cultivated herbs, floras and teas scientifically formulated to gently rid the body of energy-depleting chemicals, pollutants and toxins.

TruDtox in Original formula in packs of five bags and 17 teabags are available at Guardian, Watsons, caring, Vitacare, Alpro, Alpha and other pharmacies nationwide, on www.lazada.com.my and on www.plincco.com (receive RM20 voucher upon signing up)
