I was excited to be back at Tung Yuen Chinese Restaurant at Grand BlueWave Hotel Shah Alam (GBWHSA) to taste their latest Chinese food promotion specially curated by Chef Patrick Ng. With a menu featuring an all SEAFOOD only dishes ‘Baby Lobster Meets Hai Xian Delight’, it calls for ocean-fresh seafood ingredients namely the Baby Lobster, Garoupa Fish, Top Shell Abalone, New Zealand Green Mussels, White Squid, Scallops, Prawns, Fish Maw and Jelly Fish among others.

In the period of 15th July till 30th September 2017, Grand BlueWave Hotel Shah Alam (GBWHSA) is bringing you the tantalising luxurious Chinese cuisines to give varieties for food lovers through a special promotion of ‘Baby Lobster Meets Hai Xian Delight’ at Tung Yuen Chinese Restaurant. Expect to be served with rich and flavorful dishes of exciting taste, this promotion is also a Halal certified and endorsed by JAKIM.

‘Baby Lobster Meets Hai Xian Delight’ Promotions are exclusively prepared by their one and only Chinese Chef, Chef Patrick Ng which available at Tung Yuen Chinese Restaurant, Level 1. The promotion is available daily for lunch at 11.30am till 2.30pm and dinner at 6.30pm till 10.30pm. 

Diners can order a meal set for a minimum of 5 persons, priced at RM75.00+ per person consisting of an Eight Course Chinese Menu which are

Our sumptuous seafood-filled  luncheon started off with the appetizer of the day featuring the Chilled Jelly Fish Salad.  Appetizer menu are on rotational basis where everyday diners gets a new dish of Chef's daily special of Chinese chilled starter.

Making its grand appearance in today's tasting was the Cheese Baked Baby Lobster. Each Baby Lobster weighs at approximately at 150 gram each and it's perfectly cooked and prepared to be served to diners at 1/2 portion per diner. So that each diner gets to savour the half portion per person.

Diners can choose to have the Baby Lobster dish cooked in 2 style - Cheese Baked or Pan Fried served with Vietnamese style. Those looking for a taste of the rich creaminess of flavourful cheese should opt for the Cheese Baked, on the other hand, if you're a fan of spicy dishes, it would be a better choice to have the Baby Lobster served in the Vietnamese sauce. Chef Patrick concocted a house made sauce with sourish spicy flavour with ingredients from fresh herbs and curry powder to enhance the taste.

These are the soft and fluffy Mantou, Chinese buns which you must eat with the Baby Lobster sauce. Everyone at the table were just mopping up every drop of it with our Mantou!

Fish lovers will rejoice at the sight and taste of the fresh and succulent dish of Steam Garoupa Fish with Spicy Bean Paste. Chef Patrick made an excellent choice of using deep-sea water fish such as the Garoupa, well-known for its sweet, meaty white flaky flesh and chewy, gelatinous skin - just perfect for steaming!

Served topped with house made spicy-sweet bean sauce (Tauchu Paste), the fish doneness was spot-on, rendering a succulent flaky-soft meat on our palate. For diners of 10 pax, fish weighing 1 kg to 1.2 kg will be made available for the table while a smaller group of 5 pax, you can expect a smaller fish weighing around 500 to 600 gm.

The third dish on the menu is the Pan Fried Trio Seafood with Spicy Sauce on Hot Plate. 3 types of ocean fresh seafood were specially picked for this spicy dish.

Featuring famous New Zealand Green Mussel, known for its thick and meaty flesh, Giant Scallops imported from US and white squid, these are part of the 'Trio Seafood' pan-fried with spicy Asam sauce.

Moving on,  it was a refreshingly change of having some greens for our dinner. Portion side for the Braised Top Shell Abalone Slice with Hong Kong Kai Lan & Roast Garlic was generous. Make sure you eat the roasted garlic - a tasty delicacy commonly known with health properties and they do add flavour and depth to the dish with their buttery, nutty deliciousness.

No Chinese dining is complete without rice. Diners get to enjoy a fair amount of seafood such as plump prawns, chunky white squid and fish fillet in this simple but tasty 'Yong Chow'-style fried rice. Seafood lovers are really in for a treat with this awesome fried rice loaded with seafood!

For soups, diners can choose between the two choices of soup sourish Boiled Szechuan Soup or herb soup of Double-Boiled Fish Maw Soup. I enjoyed the clear fish broth with the Chinese herbs but my Muslims diner just loved the spicy and fragrant Szechuan Soup.
