The Porki Society ~ Boat Noodles Soft Launch @Seapark Section 21 Petaling Jaya

Boat Noodle been enjoying a big buzz with many foodies within Klang Valley. A big hit for selfies and groupies where they enjoy their famous gimmic of stacking bowls when they finish it, taking pictures and sharing how many bowls have been eaten.

Personally I have yet to try any boat noodles before. So when I was invited to attend the soft launch in one of  the latest boat noodles house recently, I decide to give it a try.

The Porki Society is strategically located at Seapark Section 21, Petaling Jaya. Tucked within the old neighbourhood of Seapark in PJ and among many others old established eateries, this restaurant is a nice new addition to the neighbourhood.

Decor settings is simple with old school design, colourful wooden panel square tables with matching square seated stools.

The Porki Society interior is made to look like a traditional Thai shop with very minimalistic interior decoration.

A very simple menu greets the diners, one may choose between Soup or Dry Noodles with 2 types of noodles to choose from ~ Meehoon or Rice Noodles. Going for RM 1.90 a bowl.

Typical Thai Table condiments ~ Fish sauce, Spicy Chillies sauce, Chillies flakes and some sugar too.

Cap Moo ~ Pork Rinds

For starters, we have some crunchy pork rinds called Cap Moo Pork Rinds costing RM 1.90 per bowl. Go well with the spicy chilllies sauce.

4 Variations of Boat Noodles
@ RM 1.90 per bowl

Rice noodles ~ Dry version

Rice noodles ~ Dry version comes with sweet and savoury thick sauce and topped with 1/2 of a pork ball, crispy pork lard, liver, chopped celery leaves and peanuts for added flavour and crunch.

 Meehoon ~ Dry version.

The Meehoon  dry version is similar to the Rice noodles except for the type of noodles served. Both are equally tasty and soak up the flavour pretty well.

Meehoon - Soup Version

As for the soup noodles on the other hand, is rather spicy. I find the soup base rather salty as I have tone down my taste to less saltier food nowadays. It could be that I'm super sensitive to salty food and this soup version doesn't goes well with me.

The toppings are quite similar for all the noodles with 1/2 of a pork ball, small pieces of liver, pork lard, pork slices (in some), celery leaves and peanuts.

During the soft launch, things got a bit crowded and they sort of mess up or forgot my orders for extra bowls of noodles and sides snack. I didn't get to try the soup version of rice noodles. Anyway, I only get to eat around 4 servings of the boat noodles which is not sufficient to fill my empty stomach that night.

Soft Launch Voucher ~ Complimentary Set

It was not enough to fill my stomach but overall, my friends and I did had a satisfactory and tasty meal. It could have been better and more fulfilling if I was served the full menu as stated in their Complimentary Set. Such a sad food review day for me at The Porki Society!
