Having just tried out KimNaNa Bento, a food delivery service recently and found them to be top-form starting from the on-line ordering process to delivering to me my delicious, warm and nutritious meals. Chicken being one of my favourite choice of meat to eat besides fish, so I choose Hot Spicy Fried Chicken from their Club Bento menu. A premium fragrant rice dish that comes served with fried chicken marinated with spices and Thai sauce and sides of shredded cabbage, carrots shreds, green peas and half of a boiled egg.   

You will definitely approve of the spicy yet flavorful boneless fried chicken thigh. Well-seasoned with a mild level of spiciness and lots of fresh herbs to enhance the flavour. I really enjoyed this dish to the fullest while the nutritious part was compensated with the generous portion of vegetable sides.

Good Choice - Succulent Spicy Boneless Fried Chicken Thigh

Healthy Sides Of Green Peas, Carrots Shreds, Cabbage & Boiled Egg

Highly recommended for those who loved spicy food and fried chicken too! A good choice will definitely order this dish again as its one of my favourite now!

KimNaNa Beauty Gumiho Bento menu selection is a series of a specially designed menu with ingredients to suit the nutritional and beauty needs of women based on the recommendations of nutritionists and Naturopathic physicians.

So my choice from the Beauty Gumiho Bento is Grilled Chicken with Mushroom and Green Bean in Sweet BBQ Sauce served with premium fragrant rice. From the website, there is a full list stating the benefits of ingredients that make up the full dish for the bento.  

BBQ Sauce Grilled Chicken Thigh

Following is an excerpt from their menu on GUMIHO Detox Bento .....

GUMIHO Detox Bento is characterized by a variety of superfood of detoxification and highly recommended by nutritionist and physicians.

The grilled chicken serve in a special Indonesian barbecue sauce mixed with mushrooms and green beans. It tastes slightly sweet. Traditionally, Indonesian chef brushes barbecue sauce on chicken before baking. 

But our main chef creatively cooks the barbecue sauce with special ingredients and mixes with mushrooms and green beans and then sprinkle on the grilled chicken. The featured side dish is poached sweet potatoes which are natural in color and free of non-natural pigments. The pumpkin pudding is a special dessert made from fresh pumpkins.

Overall, I find the grilled chicken on an acceptable taste, mushrooms are okay but some may not like the green beans being cooked together with the chicken. The sides of spinach, sweet potatoes, and pickles are good to taste. On the other hand, the dessert of pumpkin pudding is smooth and creamy with a melt-in-the-mouth texture.

Hope to see more new dishes coming from KimNaNa, perhaps some pasta, sushi, wraps or pitas to tempt our appetites. 

And maybe they could expand their menu and introduce some low-fat, low-carb diet sensitive favourites or even gluten free meals in future. Oh yes, it will be great too with caloric information and nutritional value with calories, proteins, carbs, and fats are noted in each individual lunch box.

There is a saying that "Eat Breakfast Like A King, Lunch Like a Prince and Dinner Like a Pauper". With this in mind, my blogger hubby and I went to taste out the latest breakfast menu at Brotzeit German Bier Bar and Restaurant located at Bangsar Shopping Centre.

Sundays & Public Holidays Brunch Specials Available Till 3pm 

Brotzeit is renowned for its German cuisine as we have reviewed earlier. Click Here for my earlier review; it is also popular with its hearty breakfast set. As an add-on, you can start your breakfast with a chilled glass of orange juice to detox your body.

Signature Breakfast Set

With the new breakfast menu, our first brekkie is non-other than the Signature Breakfast Set. This set is on the heavy side and is great for those big eaters while the small eater can order this to be shared by 2 persons. 

Loving This Mouth-Watering Shot Of Ham & Belly Bacon

This platter comes with two farm fresh eggs, slices of streaky bacon, 2 Nurnberger sausages on a creamy bed of mashed potatoes with slices of ham, belly bacon, Emmenthaler cheese, onions and tomatoes served with multi-grain bread.

Must Try For Roast Pork Belly Lovers!

The next dish is my favourite as I just love roast pork belly. The set is called the Crispy Pork Belly. Laden with a layer of fats, the pork belly are roasted to a deep crunchy crisp. 

Served on a bed of sauteed spinach with mushroom and tomatoes; it gives a different texture, taste and flavours of this set. It is served with a choice of either fried, poached or scrambled eggs and comes with a multi-seed bread.

 Savoury Pancake

For pancake fans; you can opt for the Savoury Pancake for a change. The thin pancake is wrapped with bacon, feta cheese, tomatoes & olives. Served with fresh garden salad and a choice of either fried, poached or scrambled eggs and comes with a multi-seed bread.

 Farmer's Omelette

 This is then followed thru with a special chef creation of the Farmer's Omelette (RM22.00). The slices of potatoes together with bacon, sprinkles of herbs and eggs are fried omelette style. We like the combination flavours of the omelette and is paired with the fresh garden salad with pesto sauce and served with a sunny side up eggs and multi-seed bread. This is quite a filling meal for a person.

Next on is the Hangover Breakfast Set; it comprises with a tummy warming goulash soup, slices of fried bacon, smoked salmon with a fried farm fresh eggs and served with a Laugen bread roll.

For the sweet tooth, you can try out the Soft Crepe Duo (RM18.00). The soft crepes are filled with Nutella and strawberry jam to give a sweet and slight sourish tastes.

 

 It is then topped with chopped nuts and fresh fruits to give a different texture and refreshing taste with a drizzle of chocolate and apricot sauce.

The latest in the bakery scene, Bites Bakery Cafe is the newcomer to the bakery and coffee scene sits snugly at the corner of the hustle and bustle of the suburban township of Puchong, right at Bandar Puteri Puchong.

The brainchild behind this awesome creation of these cute and adorable dim sum sized mini bread and pastries is Robin Lim, a foodie friend of mine who are both passionate in the F&B business for a number of years. The 2 others 'babies' are namely the "Bites Cafe" and "Buns & Meat" with both located at Lake Field, Sungei Besi.

The smell of freshly brewed coffee together with the sweet smell of freshly baked buns wafting through the air and the sight of super cute mini sized buns sitting on the dim sum bamboo tray amid the retro ambiance confirm that you have stepped foot in KL's quirkiest cafe cum bakery joint - Bites Bakery Cafe.

The best of what Bites Bakery Cafe has to offer, only smaller. It’s buns built for sharing. These small sized handmade, hearth-baked artisan loaves are made with the high-quality ingredients and craftsmanship, by Bites Bakery's team of dedicated bakers. 

Fresh, Wholesome & Delicious 

High-quality baking is at the heart of the Bites Bakery Cafe offering. The whole process happens daily – every day, seven days a week – so customers can be confident that everything they buy from Bites bakery is as fresh, wholesome and delicious as can be.

All-natural with absolutely no preservatives, using pure high-quality butter to create our unique, fresh taste. They use no chemical preservatives; - they are bakers and not chemists.

I was honoured to be one of the very first to taste and review some of the lip-smacking dim sum sized buns prior to the launch at Bites Bakery Cafe. Amazed at these cheeky little buns especially the Dark Chocolate Smiley Bun and White Chocolate Bunny Bun.

Light and tasty, these mini buns are perfect for those looking to have small bites and wanting to  taste a bit of everything. Great for breakfast, tea time, mid afternoon snacking or perhaps a late guiltless supper too! 

They are priced at a small basket 4 pieces for RM4.90 while a big basket 9 pieces cost RM9.90 only. You can have them anytime of the day as they are open from 8am to 1am to feed hungry tummies!

Fans of buns and pastries should pay a visit to Bites Bakery Cafe to experience eating these little buns treats for a change. I enjoyed my tasting session very much for it was a bun-licious meal from the first to the last bite, the chicken mushroom oyaki, butter roll with mushroom and chicken with the cinnamon raisin cheese oyaki are excellent choices you should try.
