CONGRATULATIONS To KomPassion for being awarded the Thai SELECT Signature Certification recently. Chef Kom was honoured to receive the Thai SELECT Signature Award from His Excellency Mr Chainarong Keratiyutwong, the current Thai Ambassador to Malaysia, as well as Mr Worawan Wanwil, Minister Counsellor and Director of DITP Malaysia.
Thai SELECT is a certification mark awarded by the Royal Thai Government's Ministry of Commerce to guarantee authentic Thai restaurants in Thailand and internationally, based on taste, cleanliness, and the use of Thai products.
The Department of International Trade Promotion, Ministry of Commerce, and the Royal Thai Government have launched the "Thai SELECT” Program to certify and promote authentic Thai cuisine around the world to recognize and endorse authentic Thai cuisine and quality Thai restaurants and Thai food products.
WHAT IS Thai SELECT?
Thai SELECT is a certification mark awarded by Thailand's Department of International Trade Promotion to ensure the authenticity of Thai food products and Thai restaurants in Thailand and around the world. It certifies restaurants' food, hospitality, and atmosphere, ensuring the preparation of an authentic Thai experience.
Thai SELECT Restaurants
Whenever you travel, look out for the Thai SELECT stamp of approval that guarantees that delicious Thai cuisine is served in a pleasant atmosphere with charming hospitality - the full Thai cultural experience.
Thai SELECT requires strict guidelines to be followed and is awarded to restaurants in four categories, assessed by type of restaurant, decoration, and level of food and service excellence. There are four certification categories: Signature, Classic, Casual, and Unique.
Thai SELECT Signature
The logo is granted to restaurants that serve authentic Thai food with a taste of premium quality, refined decoration and excellent service.

Thai SELECT Classic
Awarded to Thai Restaurants of excellent quality.
Thai SELECT Casual
Awarded to Thai restaurants of good quality, offering Thai foods with Thai taste but have limited services.

Granted to selected restaurants within Thailand that offer Thai food local uniqueness such as Southern Thai food, Northern Thai food, etc.

Specifically for Thai food products that have been prepared traditionally.

Thai SELECT Signature is the highest award category, and KomPassion is totally honoured to be one of only two restaurants to have earned it. We were invited by DITP Malaysia for this auspicious event, which included a tasting of KomPassion's spread of authentic Thai-Licious cuisine.
