This is also my birthday month and my beloved daughter, Carmen taking time off from her busy work schedule to accompany me on a nice vacation in Vietnam. On A Eating Spree At The Street Food Tour
Day 1 In Hanoi ~ We checked into Centraltique Homestay and Travel and was delighted to be greeted with a lovely 100 years old, 7 rooms Boutique Hotel.
CENTRALTIQUE HOMESTAY & TRAVEL
Centraltique Homestay and Travel is a brand new enchanting French Colonial House near Hoan Kiem Lake. Dating back to the 1920s and 1930s, in the Old Quarter, there are dozens of exceptionally beautiful french colonial where Art Deco-style tube houses were built by the first generation of Vietnamese architects.
I adored the modern décor - as they have maintained the quarter’s distinctive architecture, heritage building preserved for more than 10 decades. Great place with an authentic homestay experience!
Located at the heart of the picturesque Old Quarter along Hang Bo Street, our homestay is very close to Hoan Kiem Lake and within walking distance to other attractions. At the weekend, the street steps away from the renowned night market.
Strolling along Hang Bo Street, within 1 km stretch, you will be greeted with a wide variety of street food to delve into, from the best 'Bánh Xèo', Vietnamese pancakes to the irresistible 'Mỳ Gà Tần' (Hanoi Vietnam's chicken noodle soup for the soul) and also the dessert 'Chè' with a bunch of topping choices.
I was told that all the food stalls owners in the area are authentic ones, they have earned their livings here almost more than decades and have mastered the secret recipes from the ancestors. You can read more about my 'Hanoi City Night Food Tour' coming soon on the blog.
OUR HOMESTAY ROOM
Our room was comfortable and charmingly decorated with a balcony overlooking the street. The room was very clean and they had everything you need. Truly a fantastic place to stay with very friendly and helpful staff too.
Our Double Bed
The Bathroom
There is no elevator only stairs to our room but it was okay as we got help assisting us to carry our luggage upstairs and downstairs at the homestay.
Oh yes, our room was just above the market street and it got very noisy especially late at night especially on the weekends.
I had a hard time trying to get some good night sleep that night. So if you are sensitive to noise, it would be best to request a rear-facing room for a quieter room as ours was the front-facing overlooking the street market.

Congratulations to your daughter for being the best employee of the year, you can see that they had a lot to do in Vietnam during their stay there, I expect a lot to see in Vietnam in 7 days, which is the time I will be on vacation in that country. May your daughter continue to be excellent at her job. :)
