Japanese Yee Sang With Tuna/Maguro Sashimi
4 to 6 pax
RM 38
Special Japanese Yee Sang Tuna or Maguro Sashimi is a real treat for sashimi lovers. Served with the freshest of the fresh raw fish from a Japanese restaurant and topped with their housemade Yuzu sauce too. Diners can add on Salmon or Tuna/Maguro Sashimi, both at RM 28 each.
Japanese Yee Sang With Salmon
4 to 6 pax
RM 38
I find the Japanese especially tastier and different from the usual ones served at Chinese restaurants. For once, the sauce used is different as instead of the sweet plum sauce, diners get to taste Yee Sang in different perspectives with the Japanese citrus fruit, Yuzu.
Really enjoyed the sourish Yuzu taste, the aromatic sauce has a distinct flavour that enhances the fresh ingredients of shredded carrot, radish, crushed peanuts, crispy crackers, sesame seed and the rest of the condiments.
Matsu Sashimi Moriawase
RM 90
A must in any Japanese dining, you must order their day's best and freshest catch in Sashimi Platter. Choose from 4, 6 to 7 different kinds of selected sashimi to suit your taste and budget. Prices starting from RM 50, RM 90 to RM 150 for the Sashimi Moriawase Set.
Our Matsu Sashimi Moriwase, a sumptuous spread of 6 kinds of Sashimi which includes Hotate, Salmon, White Tuna, Scallop, Hamachi (Yellow Tail Fish) and Ikura. I always enjoy having a Moriawase platter as it allows the chef to serve you with his personal best selection of the catch of the day. 🐟🐟🐟
Unagi Cheese Roll
RM 28
Maki lovers can try out the Unagi Cheese Roll. Delightful fresh ingredients of omelette and cucumber roll, wrapped with roasted eel, cream cheese and sesame topping, making it a savoury yet creamy cheese bites to satisfy any cheese lovers out there.
KIMI-YA Special Roll
RM 36
If you are at a loss of which Maki roll to try from their wide selection in the menu, I would suggest you just go for Chef Khim's creation of his crafted KIMI-YA Special Roll. Avocado, omelette and cucumber roll with garlic mayonnaise on sliced tuna and black caviar topping sounds pretty enticing, right?
Hotate To Kinoko No Mentai Yaki
RM 28
Moving to the Grill Menu, we had the Hotate To Kinoko No Mentai Yaki. It consists of grilled scallop and mushroom with seared marinated roe mayonnaise. Both ocean fresh ingredients of scallop and marinated roe was a delight to our taste buds as they complement each other pretty well.
Goushuu No Wagyu Ishiyaki Miso
RM 120
From the GYU specials, diners looking for some exciting grills dishes can check out the premium Wagyu beef. Goushuu No Wagyu Ishiyaki Miso, grilled thinly sliced Australian Wagyu beef on a hot stone with spicy soybean paste sauce is a good pick if you are willing to splurge on eight slices of one of the finest beef in Japan, known for its rich meaty flavour with melt-in-the-mouth texture and evenly marbled, high-ratio fat content.
Hot Stone For Grilling
An aromatic meaty dish, simple to cook - lightly grilled on the chunky heated-up volcanic tile. Firstly, you need to oil the hot tile with cubes of fat provided follow by grilling the Waygu beef slice one at a time. Be patient, don't try to grill all at a time as you might overcook these whole batch of premium beef.
The trick to cooking a perfect piece of Japanese beef is to put one slice of beef at a time. Basically, you only cook your own slice and dip it in the sauce provided before savouring it.
Goushuu No Wagyu Shabu Shabu
RM 240
(2 to 3 pax)
Another option to try the prized Wagyu beef, Chef Khim offers light but flavourful soup loaded with assorted vegetables such as several choices of fresh mushrooms, carrot slice and tofu together with Wagyu beef slices.
Same as the hot stone cooking style, just remember to light cook the beef slices after you have cook the rest of the ingredients. Over-cooking the beef will cause the meat to toughen up and would not be as tender and juicy as it should be.
Toriniku No Shabu-Shabu
RM 76
If beef is not your choice, do try a similar version of Chicken Shabu-shabu where thinly sliced chicken with assorted vegetables in soup served with citrus dipping sauce.
Yakiniku Paitan Ramen
RM 33
If you still have stomach for more, there are ramen selections to check out from. Take your pick from the chicken soup ramen served with teriyaki chicken, seafood or stir-fried marinated beef. All ramen are fully imported from Japan to maintain it's authenticity. You see, Chef Khim has his choice pick of the best ramen coming from Japan, so you can be assured of tasting some of the best Ramen in KIMI-YA.
Chicken white soup ramen with stir-fried marinated beef is a good choice if you are into beef. Featuring fresh ramen with the addition of Tamago egg and seaweed, the marinated beef enhanced the rather plain chicken broth making it a good comforting noodles dish to eat.
Curry Udon
RM 22
Japanese curry is never my favourite due to the fact that it's lacking in spiciness, the fresh herbs and spices usually present in our local curry which Malaysian are so accustomed too. Anyhow, Chef Khim has fine-tuned the Japanese curry udon to be a little bit more fragrant and spicier, less sweet to cater to the local taste buds.
Son's Favourite Curry Udon
Creamy & Thick With Comfort Food Material
Tori Nanban Udon
RM 22
Our last but not least udon noodles we tasted was the Tori Nanban Udon consist of pure wheat noodles served with chicken in the soup. We were quite stuffed after the grand mini feasting but nevertheless, this humble and simple chicken and wheat noodles soup was a delight to eat for the chewy texture of the wheat udon. Serving portion is good for sharing if you are a small eater.
Abekawa Mochi
RM 10
Dessert to end our meal at KIMI-YA was none other than the popular Japanese Mochi, a dessert synonymous with Japanese dessert of house made rice cake with red bean paste and the fragrant roasted soybean powder.
Gelato/Ice Cream Selections
RM 8 Per Scoop - Ice Cream
RM 10 Per Scoop - Yuzu Sorbet
Ice cream lovers will be in for a treat with KIMI-YA wide selections of ice cream to choose from such as chocolate, black sesame, Matcha and their house special Yuzu Sorbet was everyone's favourite for the refreshing taste and sourish flavour.
