BAD Experience With RUDE Manager At OUG JADE Chinese Restaurant

BAD Experience With RUDE Manager At
OUG JADE Chinese Restaurant

I had a frustrating dining experience at Jade OUG. The food was tasty and reasonably priced, but the service left much to be desired, particularly with the lady taking our orders.

The menu, available in both Chinese and English, proved quite misleading, especially in its English translations. Take, for instance, the dish labeled "Stuffed Beancurd With Scallop Sauce." To our surprise, there was no mention of pumpkin in the English description, yet upon inquiry, we discovered it was actually Pumpkin Stuffed Beancurd. A discrepancy that left us puzzled.

Claypot Stewed Pork Belly With Beancurd

Another case was the "Claypot Stewed Pork Belly With Beancurd." Despite its English label, what arrived at our table was not pork belly but Roast Pork cooked with beancurd.

For those reading the Chinese descriptions, Jade OUG uses elaborate names, leaving diners to imagine what they might be eating.

Salt & Pepper Deep-Fried Cuttlefish

Unfortunately, the impatience displayed by the lady taking our order only added to the frustration. When we sought more information about the dishes, her demeanor was far from accommodating.

Claypot Stewed Pork Ribs With Yam

We ordered a Ginger Steamed Grass Carp dish, only to be informed later that they had run out of Grass Carp. Instead, they suggested Tilapia as a substitute. When we decided to change the cooking style, it seemed to inconvenience her.

Her impatience became evident when we requested a moment to decide on an alternative dish. Suddenly, she mentioned that all our orders would be delayed if we took longer to decide.

Curry Tilapia

Shortly after, we returned to confirm our order for Curry Tilapia, but she then stated that the kitchen might have already prepared the Tilapia in Ginger, making it impossible to change our order.

The conflicting information and abrupt changes in what was allowed added to the confusion. One moment, options were available; the next, they were not.

POV - No doubt your restaurant is popular among the locals, but that's not how you treat your customers. Please be sure to show some politeness and courtesy & most importantly, be patient when taking orders.
