Facial Lifting and Tightening Without a Surgery 

Hi everyone! I am taking a break from my usual food post to write about my aesthetic experience with Ultherapy HIFU treatment which I had recently. You can read all about my 1st post (Part 1) here: Part 1 of Ultherapy at Premier Clinic

Two months ago I was invited by Premier Clinic, a reputable aesthetic clinic at Taman Tun Dr Ismail for their Ultherapy HIFU treatment. I would like to share my first-hand experience with you on my first treatment with a surgery-free micro lift and a totally non-invasive skin lifting procedures.

This is my Final Post of the exciting experience I had at Premier Clinic after 2 months. Read on below for the full account of my experience of the suture-less facelift ~ Ultherapy HIFU treatment and the post-effects of it here.

My journey starts 2 months ago as I set out to see if time travel was possible. It wasn't a long journey and I was hoping to go on like - back tracking five years or so. When I first was introduce to the Ultherapy HIFU  I had very little expectation. All I knew at that time was that I was there to get zapped with the latest beauty technology, an outpatient procedure that promised to kick-start my skin's deadbeat collagen, perhaps to reverse ageing signs on my face.

Here's what happened in the treatment room:

Firstly, I took a painkiller to reduce the pain for nervous patients like me. The procedure started off with the nurse applying numbing cream on my face. The role of numbing cream is basically to reduce the pain by numbing the area specifically for treatment.

Half an hour later, my face was feeling numb and it was thoroughly cleansed off to remove the numbing cream. Before the treatment begins, Dr Kee marks the area to be treated with a white crayon. After which, he began by applying sonogram gel to my face and neck area.

For the next hour or so, Dr Kee inched an Ulthera wand over my cheeks, forehead, neck and jaw. I can feel the doctor gliding, pressing firmly, and zapping with the device slowly millimetre by millimetre while he asked about how I felt, assuring me that everything is fine and good.

Dr Kee uses a unique "See and Treat" energy-based aesthetic technology whereby he can actually visualize tissue layers to 8mm using DeepSEE technology. The therapeutic capacity also allows the precise delivery of micro-focused ultrasound energy.

Intense Ultrasound Energy

The sensation of each of the ultrasound energy was like a split-second before you could actually register that something was too hot.  It was the build-up to pain, without the pain. The only moments that triggers my nerve were the first couple of zaps over my cheekbones, sending vibrations ringing in my head.

After working his way from neck to forehead, Dr Kee then handed me a mirror to show me the results. My cheeks were flushed, but other than that, there really wasn't an immediate difference. The entire process was over in about 45 to 60 minutes.

The procedure was done professionally with Dr. Kee's gentle hands as he was very careful and precise throughout the whole ultrasound procedure. Assuring and professional, Dr Kee kept me as comfortable as possible while working his 'magic wand' over my face and neck. I have no prior experience before with Ultherapy treatment, a micro-focused ultrasound but this was quite bearable for me.

The side effects of this procedure include mild to moderate redness and swelling which I did experience on the first 2 to 3 days. There is no downtime but my skin look slightly swollen and red after the procedure. I had a slight tingling or tenderness to touch, but these are mild and temporary in nature. I was told that it would subside within a few days and was advised to wear sunblock daily after the procedure.

I'm happy with the results. I noticed a more defined jawline, significant facial lifting and toning after 2 months. Further improvements can continue for up to 6 months after a procedure. Ultherapy reset the clock nicely for me. I believe it is the skill of my aesthetic doctor and HIFU (High Intensity Focus Ultrasound) ~ technology of the new era that gave me such amazing results!

My age never quite bothered me until recently, when I felt like it was catching up with me. I don't have any issues with self-esteem or vanity, but I would be excited if I could take a few years off.  I do want to look my best at any age that I am.

I turned 51 last December. I have 2 daughters in their early twenties and a young teenage son. Over the last 3 years, I have noticed signs of aging on my face. I have had Botox on my forehead, crow's feet (eye wrinkles), and fillers for the sunken area in my laughter lines (nasolabial folds) near my mouth. These procedures, which help to lift my face, are non-invasive compared to the usual surgical procedures.

My aim was to do little procedures to maintain and slightly slow down my aging process by reversing those sags and bags that are starting to creep in. I don't want to end up looking too fake or stretched out. I do want to look like myself 5 or 10 years ago.

I do want to look my best, yet I still look just like myself. Well, I was totally thrilled when Premier Clinic offered me the chance to review their latest Ultherapy HIFU (High-Intensity Focused Ultrasound) treatment, one of their beauty and aesthetic treatments. I am very lucky as this couldn't have come at a better time, especially since I just passed fifty years of age last month. Seeing that I am growing older by the day, I would need an effective solution to my aging problem.   

Well, this led me to the practice of Dr Kee Yong Seng at Premier Clinic in Taman Tun Dr Ismail to try Ultherapy. I found that Dr Kee is a very warm and charming doctor as he took the time to answer my questions patiently and explained the treatment to me. 

During the consultation, Dr Kee determined whether I am a suitable candidate for Ultherapy HIFU treatment and addressed any concerns or worries I may have. I felt comfortable and at ease thanks to his utmost professionalism, and I have confidence in the non-invasive skin-tightening and lifting procedure I am going to have later.

• The only non-invasive procedure FDA-Approved to lift skin on the brow, neck, and under the chin.
• Ultrasound procedure that simulates the production of new collagen and elastin deep within the skin.
• Non-surgically lifts and tightens skin tissue, even on the decollete with no downtime.

A surgery-free micro lift is precisely what Ultherapy purports to offer. "This is a non-invasive skin lifting procedure. It's using a HIFU, which stands for 'High-Intensity Focused Ultrasound', this procedure will be bypassing the skin layers delivering focused ultrasound energy bypass the skin surface go deep into the skin making hot multiple hot spots, " explained Dr Kee. "Compare to other non-invasive procedures of skin-lifting treatment, I would say Ultherapy can give you the most maximum lifting results," added Dr Kee.

He also mentioned that Ulthera uses ultrasound, so it is a very safe technology that bypasses the skin surface, meaning no heat is delivered to the surface itself. It penetrates the dermis up to 4.5mm and delivers high-temperature hot spots. The ultrasound procedure stimulates our skin to undergo remodeling, producing new collagen and elastin deep within the skin.

As we age, the collagen in our skin weakens and elastin breaks down, causing the skin to become more lax. Unlike lasers and radio-frequency treatments, which penetrate the skin from the outside in, Ultherapy works from the inside out to lift and tighten the skin non-invasively. To my understanding, the skin's response to this ultrasound energy is to stimulate the growth of fresh, new collagen and elastin.    

Only ONE Treatment Session is required to rejuvenate your skin. You may notice an immediate improvement after the session, but the progressive results are more likely to become apparent over the next 2-3 months. This gives the collagen time to take effect on your skin, tightening it to reduce wrinkles and signs of aging in the treated areas.

I was there to get zapped with the latest beauty technology, a simple procedure that promised to kick-start my skin's deadbeat collagen. With hopes to get positive results to reveal a lifting and tightening of my skin over 2-3 months' time, back to a more youthful and radiant me!

I am eager to see what results the next 2 to 3 months will bring for me. Dr Kee explained that the optimal results from lifting and toning appear a few months later because the collagen-building process takes time. Further improvements can appear up to 6 months after a procedure. 

I shall be heading back to the clinic for my follow-up consultation in two months' time.
