Giant Bowl Of Fish Head Noodles

Finding a comforting, budget-friendly meal that feels like it was cooked with pure heart is getting rarer these days. While exploring Cheras recently, I stumbled upon a true hidden gem: the Fish Head Noodle stall inside Restoran Seong Loong at Taman Bukit Ria.

It isn't a flashy or overly hyped spot on social media, but it's a deeply beloved local favorite for those in the know who want a big, satisfying bowl of noodles at an unbeatable price.
Big Portions & Unbeatable Value
What immediately blew me away was the value for money. For just RM 13, you get a super-enormous bowl of noodles loaded with generous toppings. The portion size is so huge that I honestly believe it could easily feed two light eaters!
Crafted by Hand with Patience
The stall is run by a sweet, hardworking auntie in her late 70s. She cooks every single order from scratch, taking her time to ensure each bowl tastes its best. Because she is a one-woman show, be prepared to wait patiently for your food—but trust me, the reward is well worth the wait.
Fresh Ingredients & A Generous Touch
Here is what makes her bowl of Fish Head Noodles so special:
Meaty Fish Portions: Each serving comes packed with 5 to 7 generous pieces of fish (Carp fish - Soong Yu Tau). You can usually choose between fresh or deep-fried fish.
Rich, Creamy Broth: She doesn't hold back on the evaporated milk, creating a soup base that is wonderfully rich, creamy, and soothing.
The Final Splash: Right before serving, she finishes off the bowl with a generous splash of fragrant Chinese Shaoxing wine for added depth of flavor.
Seeing how lavish she is with her noodles, fish, milk, and wine really makes you wonder where her profit margin is!
Note: Since we arrived near her closing time, the deep-fried fish and tomatoes were already sold out, so we had the fresh-fish version in a simpler broth. Even without those extra toppings, the bowl was deeply satisfying and delicious.
Final Verdict
If you're around Cheras and craving a soulful, hearty, and extremely affordable bowl of Fish Head Noodles, make a trip to Restoran Seong Loong. Just be sure to go early, as her stall is easily the most popular spot in the coffee shop!
