Movie Date With My Daughter &
An Honest Review of Caffeinees @ Pavilion Bukit Jalil
Last Saturday was all about quality mother-daughter time! My daughter and I headed over to Pavilion Bukit Jalil for a movie night to catch the famous Teochew film from China, "Dear You". It was a wonderful watch, and after the credits rolled, we were both ready to hunt down some dinner.
While walking through The Food Merchant, we noticed an all-day promotion board for Caffeinees. The deals looked incredibly wallet-friendly, so we decided to park ourselves there and give it a try. Here is my completely honest review of our meal!
The Star of the Show: River Prawn Noodle (Sang Har Meen)
- Price: RM 19.80 (Promo Price)
- The Verdict: Real value for money!
For shopping mall food, this was a massive win. The dish came with a very generous serving of Sang Meen and two decent, medium-sized prawns. In fact, the portion is large enough to easily feed two small eaters.
Taste-wise, it was good to eat and hits the spot if you're craving something savory and comforting. Definitely worth ordering while the promo lasts!
The Hit-and-Miss: Buttermilk Chicken Spaghetti
- Price: RM 13.90
- The Verdict: A mixed bag—won't be ordering this again.
At RM 13.90, you really can't complain about the price—it is so cheap la! The saving grace of this dish was definitely the deep-fried chicken. It was beautifully crispy on the outside, and very juicy and flavorful on the inside.
However, the buttermilk sauce itself just didn't appeal to my palate at all. It was way too sweet for a savory pasta dish, so this one was a miss for me.
The Letdown: Iced Lemon Tea
- Price: RM 3.50 (Add-on)
- The Verdict: Skip this entirely.
Unfortunately, the drink was a total disappointment. It was incredibly lousy, watery, and tasteless. It was so diluted that I honestly couldn't taste either the lemon or the tea. Next time, I’ll just stick to plain water!
Final Thoughts
If you happen to be hanging out or catching a movie at Pavilion Bukit Jalil, Caffeinees is a great budget-friendly option if you order the right things. My advice? Go straight for the River Prawn Noodle promo and skip the buttermilk pasta and the iced lemon tea.
