The Korean wave hit Malaysia and washed our shores all things Korean from fashion, music, television series and even food. Walk around in shopping malls in Klang Valley, and you will find countless Korean restaurants. Hoping to set itself apart from the rest is a Halal-certified Korean restaurant called DubuYo Urban Korean Food. 

DubuYo Korean Delights

The halal Korean restaurant serves up 'traditional-modern' cuisine, capturing distinct Korean ingredients in their signature dish of Soondubu Jigaes to all tasty urban Korean favourites such as Bibimbap, Ramyeon, Toppokki, and much more. Diners can choose from their vast menu with selections from Soondubu Jigaes, Korean Gogi to Urban favourites and All-Day Sets.  

APPETIZERS

Golden Beoseot Fried Mushroom

We started off with the Golden Beoseot Fried Mushroom. This is a deep-fried mushroom crispy and fragrant fried to golden brown, served with sesame-based dipping sauce. 

 

Maandu

RM 7.50

Maandu is another tasty snack diners can order to try as an appetiser. It's a dumpling filled with minced meat and vegetable wrapped with dumplings skin; pan-fried before being served.   

  

Cheese Soondubu Jigae - Beef

DubuYo's signature and hearty dish of Soondubu Jigae is one of their best-sellers. The broth is full of flavour and slightly spicy to taste. Generous with ingredients of tofu, egg, vegetables and meat of your choices such as seafood, beef or chicken.

Set Serving Of Soondubu Jigae

All Soondubu Jigae dishes are freshly cooked using a choice of chicken broth or beef broth. Sets are served with 3 banchan (side dishes) of the day and DubuYo rice.

  DubuYo Rice

You may notice the DubuYo rice is a light brown colour as this Japanese rice is cooked with black sticky glutinous rice for the added nutrients and colour too. 

Doenjang Jigae

Set Menu With Banchan & DubuYo Rice 

A hearty stew made with Korean Doenjang (soybean paste) cooked with seafood and vegetables. If you are a fan of their Korean soybean paste, then you are in for a treat. Similar to the Soondubu Jigae dishes, diners can choose ala carte dishes or pick the Set that comes with 3 banchan (side dishes) of the day and DubuYo rice.

 

Yukgaejang (Spicy Beef Noodles)

Beef lovers can choose this delightful Spicy Beef Noodles called Yukgaejang. Another mildly spicy beef broth with shredded beef strips and a generous portion of mushroom with Jap Chae (Korean glass noodles). 

 Jap Chae (Korean Glass Noodles)

I really enjoyed eating the slurpy Jap Chae as the Korean glass noodles is smooth, silky and springy in texture. Goes hand-in-hand with the beef broth. Great combination indeed!

   

 

 Spicy Seafood Raymeon

If you like ramen, the springy and curly noodles with seafood, then Spicy Seafood Raymeon is the perfect dish for you. Cooked in a hearty broth with seafood as the main ingredient, together with egg, seaweed, Kim Chi, corn and last but not least, the springy instant noodle.

 Samgyetang (Chicken Ginseng Soup)

No Korean menu is complete without the Ginseng Chicken Soup or more commonly known as Samgyetang. Get your dose of ginseng treat from this highly nutritious and fragrant herbal soup cooked with Korean ginseng, chicken thigh and glutinous rice.    

 Tuna Bibimbap

Next, we try out the Tuna Bibimbap - A Spicy Tuna rice dish mixed with mayonnaise on a bed of Dubuyo rice topped with fish roe, egg, corn, crab-sticks and radish. All-in-one dish where you got to mixed it up before eating and it tastes best when eaten while it's still warm!

 Honey Garlic Bulgogi Beef

Another beef dish from DubuYo ~ Honey Garlic Bulgogi Beef. A favourite dish among the Korean, pan-grilled tender and juicy beef strips cooked with onions served on a bed of DubuYo rice, topped with sunny side up.

The second choice of Chi-Jeu Dak is their Honey Mustard Chicken Cubes. This is my favourite among the two, just love the crunchy and crispy deliciousness in the sweet honey mustard sauce. The perfect combination of cheesy sweetness. 😋😋😋

For a sweet ending, the restaurant has Nockha Bingsu in their menu. The Nokcha Bingsu is a Korean Green tea Bingsu filled with delicious green tea shaved ice and served with a scoop of green tea ice cream and creamy sweet red beans.
