NASI LEMAK may be the darling of every Malaysian who loves local food, including Auntie Lilly too! As I'm always on a lookout for this (National) dish, our Nasi Lemak to add to my favourite food list to eat, I chanced upon this NASI LEMAK SITI ASILAH - food truck located adjacent to IMU (International Medical University) in Bukit Jalil, Kuala Lumpur.

It's hard to miss the bright yellow banner on the food truck which offers a selection of mouth-watering dishes to go with the Nasi Lemak. They have included variations of accompaniments such as Ayam Goreng, Daging Masak Hitam, Ayam Masak Merah and Sambal Sotong as well as Telur Goreng.

What's good here is they are generous with the rice portion as well as the dishes (Lauk) for the Nasi Lemak. 

The Ayam Goreng is freshly fried on-site and you get to choose your preferred parts. I took the thigh and chicken wings as shown above for RM 5.50 per pack.

Nasi Lemak Daging Masak Hitam

Highly recommended is the Daging Masak Hitam to go with your Nasi Lemak. I spotted this beef dish and initially thought its Daging Masak Kicap but the vendor told me it's not. 

He shares that this is the authentic style Nasi Kandar Beef dish that's cooked with spices and fresh herbs without a drop of the black soya sauce (kicap).  

Nasi Lemak Daging Masak Hitam

I just loved this - the beef was tender and flavourful - so delicious with more gravy from the dish. For RM 6 only, this Nasi Lemak Daging Masak Hitam is a steal. The vendor told me that this is a STUDENT'S PRICE and he's trying his best to sell his food specially for the IMU students. 

Nasi Lemak Sambal Sotong

Next, the Nasi Lemak Sambal Sotong is a good bet if you like those chewy textures of the brown squid. Here again, they will top your Nasi Lemak with several scoops of these yummy Sambal Sotong!  

Nasi Lemak Biasa 
RM 1.50

Now, if you are looking for a quick bite of a simple Nasi Lemak Biasa, NASI LEMAK SITI ASILAH offers you a large portion of plain coconut milk rice with cucumber and peanuts for RM 1.50. This is by far the most generous Nasi Lemak I came across and real value-for-money if compared to the mini Nasi Lemak Bungkus offered by the Mamak stalls.    

This food truck is popular in the neighbourhood and if you are head there at 3pm, you will see a steady stream of students queuing up for the cheap and affordable Nasi Lemak.   

Ayam Masak Merah

So, there you are - GOOD CHEAP FOOD from NASI LEMAK SITI ASILAH IMU BUKIT JALIL. If you're around the vicinity, feeling peckish or hungry and is looking for a portion of good decent food to eat without burning a hole-your-pocket - just drop by this roadside Nasi Lemak stall in Bukit Jalil for a try!
