Get Ready To Toss To Prosperity & Let The Feast Begin
Eight Treasures Seafood Soup
There's the Eight Treasures Seafood Soup for the seafood lovers. It's rich in seafood flavour especially with ingredients with 'Treasures from the Sea'. Between mouthful, you will get to taste bits of crabs, prawns, shark fins, dried scallop and fish maw, just to name a few.
Crispy Roasted Pei Pa Duck
Among the highlights were the Crispy Roasted Pei Pa Duck. Chef Alex's duck dish signifies good fortune and to my good fortune, it was tasty and east to chew. One piece was not enough as a few people on my table took extra helpings. The sauce was wonderful too and thoughts of having some warm rice to mop up the sauce did came to mind.
Steamed Giant Grouper Fillet With Fresh Beancurd Skin & Ginger Sauce
I loved eating fish in any form - steamed, fried, grilled, braised or even baked. The Steamed Giant Grouper Fillet With Fresh Beancurd Skin and Ginger Sauce was particularly memorable as the giant Grouper was very fresh and the sweet flesh was simply perfect with the accompanied of the superior housemade sauce of ginger and scallions.
Wok-Fried Sea Prawns Tossed With Golden Salted Egg Glaze
Wok-Fried Sea Prawns Tossed With Golden Salted Egg Glaze was one of favourite for the night. Although I am a big fan of prawns, it's always tedious to peel prawns when having to eat them. But, the Sea prawns in the wok-fried dish were meticulously de-shelled and dipped in batter to be deep-fried and lightly wok-fried with the aromatic flavourful salted egg glaze.
Stuffed Sea Cucumber With Sha Jiang Oyster, Garden Greens & Sea Moss Sauce
If the saying that eating more fatt choy (sea moss) will bring more wealth is true, then be sure to give the Stuffed Sea Cucumber With Sha Jiang Oyster, Garden Greens & Sea Moss Sauce dish, a try!
Packed with the ubiquitous black moss or sea moss, also known a "Fatt Choy" in Cantonese, the dish is a must-have during Chinese New Year as it's considered an ingredient that bring prosperity. Apart from that, Chef Alex has chosen the premium Sha Jiang Oyster or Hor See to paired with the rest of the broccoli and stuffed sea cucumber.
Steamed Glutinous Rice with Cured Wax Meat
Going back to basics was what they did here for the auspicious rice dish. The steamed glutinous rice was well-seasoned with the fragrant cure waxed meat and topped with a slice of chicken meat. It resembles the dim sum dish of 'Law Mai Kai'.
Double-Boiled Papaya with Osmanthus Flower
A sweet end to our satisfying meal at Ee Chinese Cuisine with the Double-Boiled Papaya with Osmanthus Flower. It's a warm and soothing sweet soup to drink after a heavy meal. Both papaya and osmanthus flower are known for their health properties ... so drink up!
Batter Fried Nian Gao With Sweet Potato
For dessert, Chef Alex serves us the traditional 'Nin Kuo' with a twist. These lovely golden balls are 'Nin Kuo' in cubes and wrap with mashed sweet potatoes, battered and deep-fried to a golden brown perfection.
Great dessert with a twist - tasting crispy on the outside with a soft melt-in-mouth texture on the inside with the sweet-tasting creamy sweet potato and soft rice cake inside.
