Kerabu Corner |
After breaking fast with Arab dates, Malay kuih and
variety of appetisers, guests can enjoy authentic kampung fare as well as the
grill dishes. Diners can then move on to starters such as a selection of kerabu
(Malaysia salads); Kerabu Daun Selom, Kerabu Nangka, Kerabu Sotong and
Ulam-ulam to eat with sambal belacan or tempoyak (fermented
durian paste) for the added kick.
Frying Station |
At the live goreng-goreng or Frying Station higlights Malaysian snacks that one would commonly find on the streets. Indulge in crispy local snacks such as Pisang Goreng (Banana Fritters), Keladi Goreng (Yam Fritters), Epok-Epok (Potato Puff), Karipap (Curry Puff), Cucur Ikan Bilis ( Anchovies Fritters) among others.
Noodles & Soup Station |
A live cooking station serving local hawker food such as Mee Kari (Curry Noodles) with condiment of bean sprouts, boiled eggs, beancurd slices, sotong, chicken, lime and julienned red chillies was also available. Guests can try out with Bijan's special Sup Rusuk Daging, a savoury beef bone soup cooked with herbs and spices.
Favourite Ayam Masak Merah & Signature Kambing Masak Hitam |
These are two of the all-time favourite dishes that fares well and also a good combination to eat with nasi putih or nasi minyak.
Fresh Sotong Sambal Hijau & Succulent Kupang Goreng Serai
|
The main dishes such as all-time-favourite Ayam Masak Merah, Kambing Masak Hitam, Sotong Sambal Hijau, Kupang Goreng Serai, Masak Lemak Udang, Ikan Gulai Darat are served in claypots to preserve heat and flavours.
Meaty grill of Beef & Chicken Satay together with Roast Lamb & Grilled Chicken Wings |
A Ramadan buffet would not be complete without an action corner serving Malaysian favourite, satay and ketupat with kuah kacang (peanut sauce), sliced onions and cubed zuchinies. Satay lovers sould not miss out on the KL satay - where chicken and beef on skewers are prepared on the spot and grilled to tender, juicy perfection.
Everyone's favourite that night was simply the Beef Satay - the skewered beef fillets marinated in Chef Zulkifli's special spiced honey and grilled over charcoal fire, which was soft, tender and flavourful.
Selection of fresh prawns, squid, scallops, mussels & crabs |
Bijan has also set up a live grilling station - where customers will be able to see the chefs at work. Diners can get a selection of seafood on ice, with green lipped mussels, scallops, prawns, squid and flower crabs too.
Grill Station |
Over at the grill station, chefs whipped up grilled squid, prawns, mussels, scallops & crabs over slow charcoal fire.
Pucuk Paku Goreng Tahi Minyak |
Another must-try was the Wild Fern Stir Fried with Chilli & Caramelized Coconut (Pucuk Paku Goreng Tahi Minyak). This dish is special for its rich aroma of kerisik and crunchy texture of the wild fern, which was very delicious, leaving you wanting more.
Do not missed the desserts, as a wide selection of enticing treats await you. My personal favourite was the Durian Cheesecake. Other delectable desserts include Bubur Jagung, Manisan Biji Nangka, pudding, fresh fruits, agar-agar and local delights.
Besides coffee and tea, refreshing drinks such as soya bean and chrysanthemum are also available to accompany the meal.

The sweet and aromatic smell of the Durian D24 makes a nice end to a rich meal by refreshing the palate at Bijan. Sinfully rich cheesecake of mascarpone, cream cheese and generous portions of creamy durian on a chocolate biscuit base.
Nice Combination: Chocolate Durian Cake |
Everyone's at the dinner table especially the guys was wowed over by the Chocolate Durian Cake. With durian melt-in-your-mouth sensation and rich chocolatey taste, these two goes hand in hand with each other, just like 'marriage make in heaven'.
