Recently, my family and I took a day-long foodie road trip to escape the hustle and bustle of Kuala Lumpur. We went on a hardcore, high-quality, and in-depth tour to uncover the pure, traditional flavors that local fishermen and farmers have enjoyed since childhood.
Here’s a little sneak peek of the amazing trail we followed:
Seafood Feast:
Enjoying a spectacular lunch at Restoran Ka Lok, an absolute haven for seafood lovers with the freshest catches in this bustling fishing village.
Snack Stop #1:
Checking out Sekinchan Mimi Fishball, a renowned traditional seafood wholesaler packed with all kinds of amazing fish products!
Scenic Views:
Walking through the vast green fields at PLS Group (Sekinchan Rice Mill Factory) for those breathtaking, iconic paddy views.
Local Traditions:
Making a stop to pray at the famous Wishing Tree at the Datuk Kong Temple at Pantai Redang.
Snack Stop #2:
Dropping by the G58 Prawn Crackers factory in Kuala Selangor for crunchy, freshly made shrimp cakes bursting with sweet seafood flavors.
The Grand Finale:
Ending this incredible culinary journey with a scrumptious seafood dinner at Kedai Makanan Laut Kuala Sungai in Pasir Penambang, Kuala Selangor! The perfect last stop!
These hidden treasures completely changed how we view Sekinchan. I’ve put together a comprehensive "Sekinchan Food, Drink, and Fun Treasure Map" that you’ll definitely want to save for your weekend planning!
Stay tuned! I’ll be sharing a detailed post about each of these spots very soon. You won't want to miss it!
