The Best Fried Chicken Festival in Town designed by fried chicken lovers for all you fried chicken fans. This year, the organisers have decided to up the ante with the selection of ten of the best-fried chicken vendors (known as ‘Lejens’) from around the Klang Valley, Penang and Johor to churn out mouth-watering fried chicken to be savoured with their special sides. There will be different types of delicious fried chickens, music, games and fried chicken eating contests and chicken pong too.
“Last year, we invited eight vendors to participate and the response was overwhelming. It was both surprising but rather obvious considering how we Malaysians love our food. We created this event as a platform for local food entrepreneurs to reach a wider audience of foodies and its only natural that we get back on board the fried chicken heroes that have left a lasting impression from last year. However, to spice things up, we have this year new acts that already has a steady following and hidden gems that would give their counterparts a run for their money,” says Adly Rizal, Chief Executive Officer of FriedChillies.
An important note to all fried chicken lovers, only 3,000 tickets will be distributed this year (1,500 each day) to maintain the exclusivity of the event and ensure the freshness of the dishes.
Other than the fact that fried chicken needs to be eaten hot, food fans don’t necessarily realise how many different ways we could eat fried chicken and the wide range of fried chickens out there in Malaysia.
Spending the last 6 months tasting over 50 different fried chickens in Malaysia to curate the best of each kind, FriedChillies.com shoulders the responsibility of bringing together the gamut of fried chicken variety out there from the internationally renowned Fried Chicken with Nasi Lemak, Korean Fried Chicken to Chicken and Waffles and Belacan Fried Chicken.
Some of the Lejens this year include KyoChon, Familia Fried Chicken Kg Baru, Kimberly Street Belacan Fried Chicken Penang, Wak Kentut Kulai Johor and myBurgerlab.

“The point here is to sample each dishes and to experience the many wonderful ways we eat fried chicken. In that sense, the right pairing makes all the difference. All our vendors have come up with the best kind of fried chicken that goes with their special sides and sauces, cementing their reputation as Lejens. As with our other events, I EAT Nasi Lemak and I EAT Burger, it’s really about celebrating our love for food, and what better way to do that than getting all your friends and family members to enjoy the variety of fried chicken under one roof,” says Honey Ahmad, co-founder of FriedChillies.com.
“Our Lejens have been serving some of the best local fried chicken in the country and for some of them, mainly under the radar. This is your chance to get to know them and to support our food heroes. You do not want to miss this unique event!” adds Adly enthusiastically.
