I'm excited to share one of my hubby's favourite Korean dishes; an all-beef version of 'SUNDUBU-JJIGAE', a Spicy Soft Tofu Stew With HALAL Australian Beef Shabu-Shabu. This stew is savoury, spicy, comforting, delicious, and simple to make, making it popular among Koreans & non-Koreans alike.

Ingredients: Australian Beef, Tofu, Korean Paste, Mushrooms & Vegetables 

RECIPE: SUNDUBU-JJIGAE Spicy Soft Tofu Stew With HALAL Australian Beef Shabu-Shabu

Ingredients
(Serves 2-3) 

3 Cups Water
✅2 Tbsp Fish Sauce
✅1 Tbsp Sesame Oil
✅1 Cup Sliced Onion
✅1/2 Cup Sliced Carrot
✅1/4 Cup Chopped Garlic
✅3 Cups Chinese Cabbage
✅1/2 Cube Knorr Ikan Bilis
✅1/2 Cup Chopped Scallions
✅1 Block Of Soft Tofu (Cubed)
✅150 Grams Shimeji Mushrooms 
✅1 Tsp Gochugaru (Korean Red Chili Flakes)
✅2 Tbsp Gochujang (Korean Hot Pepper Paste)
✅200 Grams Halal Australian Beef Shabu-Shabu
 


Step-By-Step Full Cooking Video Of SUNDUBU-JJIGAE Spicy Soft Tofu Stew With HALAL Australian Beef Shabu-Shabu

Directions:
  • Heat a heavy pot over medium-high heat. 
  • Add Sesame Oil to pan-fry Onion & Garlic till brown & fragrant.
  • Stir in Gochujang & Gochugaru; mix well & lightly pan-fry the paste over low heat.    
  • Pour in water & bring to a boil.
  • Add-in Ikan Bilis Cube; reduce the heat to a simmer & cook for 2 mins.
  • Seasoned with Fish Sauce, Salt & Sugar to taste.   
  • Add-In Chinese Cabbage & Carrots; simmer over low heat for 2 mins.
  • Pour in Shimeji Mushrooms, Tofu & Scallions
  • Continue cooking for another 1 min, adding the Beef at the very end.
  • Simmer over low heat for about 1 min until the Beef is thoroughly cooked.
  • Serve immediately piping hot over steaming white rice if desired.
