SOONG KEE CHARCOAL FRIED HOKKIEN
In Restoran Foong Lei At Puchong
Soong Kee Fried Hokkien Mee ~ Charcoal Fire? Yes. Wok Hei? Not Quite.
My family and I have always loved Hokkien Mee cooked over charcoal fire — that deep, smoky Wok Hei makes it truly special. After our all-time favourite, Uncle Lao Ping Hokkien Mee, sadly passed on, we’ve been looking for a worthy replacement.

Recently, we discovered Soong Kee Fried Hokkien Mee, tucked inside Restoran Foong Lei in Puchong. This restaurant proudly showcases its charcoal-cooked noodles.

While the Chef certainly showed skill managing the big flames and intense heat, the Wok Hei wasn’t there—big flames, good effort, but the flavours didn’t hit home for us.

Side Dishes
We tried their Hokkien Mee, Lor Mee, and Cantonese Fried Noodles — all were decent, but nothing wowed us or left a lasting impression.
It's still not quite what we’re looking for, but who knows, it might suit your taste buds better! Try it yourself and let me know what you think, my dear followers!
