SEMENYIH FAMOUS PORK NOODLES
AT RESTORAN TIAN TIEN LAI
Hi! Have you guys heard of the famous Pork Noodles shop in Semenyih? Auntie Lilly goes 'Jalan Jalan Cari Makan' at Semenyih town and chanced upon this noodles shop at Taman Semenyih Sentral last week. Seems like favourite haunts for the locals and looking at the crowd, Restoran Tian Tien Lai could be serving the BEST PORK NOODLES in town. Read on for my noodles story...

People always say "Go EAT WHERE THE LOCALS EAT!", so here I am, checking out the shop for some of their signature noodles dishes - Sabah-Style signature Pork Mee! My hubby, Uncle Hong, a pork lover just had to have his PORK MEE SOUP RM 9.50 or 'SANG YUK MEE' with add-ons of the PORK TENDON. 'Sang Yuk Mee' literally translated to Sliced Pork Noodles!

Tender & Tasty Pork Tendon |
Auntie Lilly has a WANTAN MEE (Dry Version) RM 6.50 but it came with a bowl of mixed pork slices, wanton dumplings, beancurd sheets [Char Foo Chuk] and pork balls too! So this is definitely not the typical Wantan Noodles that served the BBQ Pork or Char Siew.

Lots & Lots Of Noodles |
The noodles or mee portion was generous for both the soup and the dry version. I enjoyed eating my well-cooked springy Wantan mee - that's not too soft with the right texture and bite to it. I only wished that they can throw in some sinful but tasty deep-fried pork lard or 'Chee Yau Char' for the extra kick to the noodles!
My Wantan mee came with a delicious bowl of pork soup on the side, loaded with mixed pork slices, wanton dumplings, beancurd sheets [foo chuk] and pork balls too. You'll definitely enjoy the freshness of the pork as they seasoned it with tapioca powder and meat tenderizer to give it extra softness.
I found them unique and different from our KL/PJ style as they served Pork Tendon, something you can never get back in Klang Valley. We enjoyed this simple and hearty food for the generous portion of toppings with noodles while their pork soup was light, mild and subtle in taste, unlike those rich-tasting porky noodles soup we used to eat in KL.
Some foodies might compare them to our 'Chee Yuk Fun' in Klang Valley and says that's missing in taste and flavour of the porky goodness, but this how an authentic Sabah-style pork noodle should be. Hubby Uncle Hong says that tasting the Tian Tien Lai's noodles reminds him of the days where he was in Kota Kinabalu in Sabah!
Good To The Last Drop! |
They are also famous for their Pork Noodles in ASAM LAKSA broth but I didn't try as Auntie Lilly still nursing a sore throat, avoiding all spicy food to get well soon.
So if you're in Semenyih, do try the famous PORK NOODLES SHOP and let me know your verdict in the comments below!
