Mission Foods With Celebrity Chef Sarah Benjamin Kicking Off 'Foldover Your Leftovers' Campaign

"WASTE NOT WANT NOT" ~ Remember this idiom of reminding us not to waste anything especially food. With this in mind, Mission Foods has joint forces with lovely celebrity Chef Sarah Benjamin marking 'WORLD FOOD DAY' on 16 Oct 2018 kicking off an exciting 'FOLDOVER YOUR LEFTOVERS' #ZeroWaste campaign.

Mission Foods 'Foldover Your Leftovers' campaign aims to inspire people with nifty ideas on how to turn leftovers. According to the United Nations Food & Agriculture Organisation, 20% of the 15,000 tonnes food waste or 3,000 tonnes are untouched leftovers that are still edible. This amount is enough to feed 5.3 million people 3 decent meals a day!

With Pretty Celebrity Chef Sarah Benjamin

I was delighted to be with Celebrity Chef Sarah Benjamin at La Juiceria Superfoods Signature Bangsar for the launch of Mission Food's FOLDOVER YOUR LEFTOVERS campaign last week.

The host of Asian Food Channel, Miss Sarah Benjamin will lead the exciting campaign by sharing her specially curated recipes and ideas through social media, PSAs and even a recipe booklet to inspire and share with Mission Foods shoppers.

Mr Randall Tan, Brand Manager of Mission Foods South Asia sharing insights on #ZeroWaste on Mission Foods’ Foldover Your Leftovers campaign

“Ending hunger should begin with each of us. Through this campaign, we wanted to show how simple it is to reuse everyday leftovers by using our products. Reusing leftovers is the easiest thing to do to jump in on this cause and in the long run save each household a lot of money,” said Randall Tan, Brand Manager for Mission Foods South Asia.

It was Sarah’s brilliant approach to local food that caught the attention of Mission Foods. Randall expressed “For this campaign, we wanted to work with someone who is likeminded and Sarah, with her belief in the cause and a real ‘man on the street’ approach fit in perfectly.”

At the launch, Chef Sarah showed us how to transform a simple curry leftover into a tasty Chicken Curry Foldover with Herbed Summer Veggies while satay leftover was reused created into a healthy Satay & Peanut Hummus Pita with Marinated Red Onion.
