Moo Kata Steamboat & BBQ House puts on lots of effort and attention to maintain the food items freshness and cleanliness by storing all the food items in special clean and hygienic display freezers away from flies and dust. I was quite impressed with this concept as most of the steamboat or BBQ places I been to usually display the food items in the open, thus exposing it to germs, dust and contamination.

Moo Kata Steamboat & BBQ House brings in the goodness of various cooking and barbecue styles under one roof, offering 3 choices of cooking methods to suit your whims and fancy. Having gas or electrical stove is too common and Mr Chua, owner of Moo Kata thinks out of box of using charcoal as a different twist to stand out of the saturated steamboat and BBQ market.
Traditional method of glowing embers from the charcoal heating the hot pot sets the mood for an exciting dining experience for Moo Kata's diners. Mr Chua adds that he wanted to give diners a taste of the old days when charcoal was used to cook food. Using only ECO Charcoal, an good quality charcoal that gives a great smoky flavour to barbecue food and heats up the pot slowly so the flavours in the ingredients are retained.
Moo Kata offers hot bowl of pork bone soup as the base for the steamboat. They cooked the entire pork bone soup with 15 kg of pork bones in 170 litres of water for long hours to make for a flavourful base for the steamboat.
You can have it spicier by making your own Tomyam soup by adding Moo Kata very special in-house made Tomyam Paste. A lot of research, trials & errors goes into making the fragrant and oil-less Tomyam paste which I found it to be a super good paste for my cooking at home. So sad it's not packaged for sale yet. I even have this nasty bad thoughts of 'smuggling' back a bottle back home that night!

A Must-Try: Dreamy Dessert ~ Durian Float
Frankly speaking, I do not know why the Filipinos named this dessert ~ Durian Float. A home recipe made by Mr Chua's lovely Filipino wife which she recommends us to eat it chilled. Looking like a durian mille crepe cake, it was so delicious with the melt-in-the-mouth sensation of the pure D24 durian flesh upon first bite. Simply irresistible as each of us had to have 4 to 5 pieces that night.
