Mouthwatering Braised Trotters with Brown Sauce
RM 26
Braised pig's trotters is a very yummy and protein-filled dish that is familiar to most Chinese people. To the uninitiated, pig's trotters do look or sound rather exotic for eating. This special dish brought back memories of the festival in the "old country" which is typically a winter dish because of the high fat content and the relatively long cooking time. It is also a Chinese New Year dish because of the "wholeness" and the lucky symbolism of the pork trotters (supposed to bring unexpected lucky money $$$.
This dish was very well done as it's practically melt in your mouth and don't taste greasy at all. I love it as it was very tender, moist and the succulent pork trotters that is cooked in an aromatic and sweet savoury sauce. The flavors seeped into the meat and the sauce will thicken up as the pork fat acts as a natural gelatin ..ooh just wonderful with hot steaming rice. Considered nutritious as pig's trotters are low in fat and carbohydrates but high in natural collagen.
One must definitely try this at least once as it's the feature dish for this restaurant even if you're not a fan of the pig trotters. But as for me, I'm definitely coming back for more.
Signature Crispy Chicken
RM 38
Crispy fried chicken is a standard dish in the Cantonese cuisine of southern China and Hong Kong. The chicken is first steam and dry and fried in such a way that the skin is extremely crunchy but the white meat is relatively soft. The dish often served with side dishes of pepper salt. It is also one of the traditional chicken dishes used in Chinese weddings and other Asian weddings.
Dragon Town offers the Crispy Chicken as signature dish which require pre order before it can be served. The chicken dish is fried in such a way that the skin is extremely crunchy, but the white meat is relatively soft. The dish was served and it looked so glorious. I haven’t had it for a long time, so I almost forgot what it tasted like. The chicken had golden fried skin, very crispy texture, and slightly sweet and spicy – garlicky taste. The difference is that this time around it was served drizzle with brown sauce which compliment the chicken. I find the price of RM 38 for this dish a bit pricey but if you're a chicken lover, I recommend that you should give it a try and have the whole dish to yourself.
Prawns In Indonesia-Style Claypot
RM 35
This curry claypot prawn dish is just simply delicious as it's cooked with the freshest spices & herbs, not too spicy but cukup lemak (santan) in its gravy. I love the tasty prawns and the curry is as good as it gets. This is one of those dishes that goes well with rice or bread. On top of that, the fresh prawns are served in big portion, both juicy & succulent bringing any of the prawn lovers to 7th heaven ! Highly recommended dish with 5 * rating ...
Broccoli & Scallop
RM25
It's a simple seafood stir-fry dish that doesn't required much explanation. I think broccoli usually goes perfectly well with any type of seafood, be it prawns or scallops in this instant. The flavors of this dish are simple but superb. The chef did a good job to rid the scallops of their fishiness and imbues them with a gingery fragrance. This step truly helped make scallops tastier and totally fishiness-free!
Sizzling Prawn, Fish Fillet & Cuttle Fish
Petai lovers will surely luv this dish as it's cooked together with generous serving of fish, prawn & cuttle fish in a sweet spicy assam sauce that goes well with the rice too. It's a 'must order' dish for all the seafood lovers out there ...
Deep Fried Tilapia with Foil
It's a crispy fish dish, served wrapped in foil. Even though, it was deep fried till crispy but the moisture was still retained in the fish. The tauchu bean sauce that came with it goes well with the fish. This is certainly a good dish that's suitable with everyone's taste from young to old alike as it is not too spicy.
Braised Beancurd With Minced Meat
RM12
This bean curd dish is one of many family’s favourite dishes that one can never get tired of. Furthermore, this dish is really good with a bowl of warm fluffy white rice, topped it over the savoury gravy. It was served with a generous amount of minced meat. The chef did well in cooking such a humble home-cooked food. An excellent choice when eating out with family with small children. This dish was homey, warm and comforting - the type of dish that warms you from the inside out ... good food to eat especially when you're feeling kind of home sick.
Fried Cuttle Fish with Assam
RM 18
Most cuttle fish dishes are usually cooked in tom yam or assam style for the extra kick or ooomph. Although this dish came with a generous amount of cuttle fish plus gravy but it lack in taste. Neither spicy or sour, it just was not up to the mark as I have tasted much better a similar dish cooked in this variation. I think what's lacking in this dish could be the fresh ingredients - the shallots, garlic, fresh chillies .... :-(
Delightful Seaweed Rolls
RM20
The Seaweed Rolls is a sure winner with seaweed lovers. Seaweed roll is such a versatile dish that comes a few combination of ingredients for the paste , such as fish paste and minced meat or minced meat , fish paste and shrimps paste. The chef added in the salted duck eggs yolk with shredded carrots and parsley looking like a sushi roll. Looks appetizing at the table ... colourful and beautifully presented. The colour of the carrots and eggs yolk makes the rolls interesting and a real feast for the eyes. This roll is tasty and delicious finger food or as entrées.
