A must-have dining experience is visiting a dai pai dong is a quintessential Hong Kong food experience, much like going for yum cha, eating at Chaan Chan Teng or simply snacking on cheap street eats.
Modern & Clean Settings
Enjoy a slice of old Hong Kong at one of the city’s remaining dai pai dongs right here at Uncle Food Stall 尖沙咀巷仔大排檔 仔大排檔 in Shek Tong Shui at Sai Wan (Western District).
Chinese Menu
The menu includes a long list of traditional Hong Kong-style dishes, which include Signature Sweet & Sour Pork, Soya Sauce Chicken, Sticky Pork Ribs, Typhoon Shelter-style Stir-fried Crab & more.
Soups Of The Day Menu
Oh yes, there's also a selection of soup for the day to go down perfectly with these dishes. Prices are pretty reasonable, starting from HK$ 48 onwards. In fact, on the day I was there, the most expensive one at HK$ 68 was a Sold-Out!
Herbal Soup
HK$ 48
Sweet & Sour Pork
HK$ 88
I would definitely come back again for the Sweet & Sour Pork dish; it was well-marinated and cooked with a very delicious sauce. Apart from that, the portion was generous, which is more than enough for sharing between two persons.
Four Heavenly Kings
HK$ 82
As for the vegetable dish, it was no doubt cooked with a lot of Wok Hei, but I found it a little too oily. It could be that the brinjals and long beans are deep-fried before cooking with the sauce and meat.
