The Mandi Rice Sets was a hit with my hubby and son as they really enjoyed the delicately flavoured yet fragrant Saffron Basmati Rice.
Fine grains were deliciously coated in natural colourings from Saffron, you can taste the ghee and the flavouring.
It's truly healthy and cosy – it's the kind of comfort food that is good for you. So tasty that you can eat it on its own! Definitely going back for more on my next visit or order.
My Personal Favourite ~ Chicken Mandi Rice
The Chicken Mandi Rice was very well-marinated with herbs and spices packed with a smoky flavour. A total hit with us, it was delicious preparation of chicken cooked with mandi powder served over a layer of basmati rice. It is packed with spices flavours and the taste of the perfect blend of spices. Best eaten along with raita for a delicious meal.
The rice and chicken are slow-cooked in a hot oven where the rice is flavoured from the chicken fat drippings and both get the smoky flavour from the burned charcoal making Mandi the most sought after Arabic rice dish. For RM 11.90, this is a steal with such a generous portion of chicken and rice. A must-try for all Chicken rice lovers!
As for the Lamb Mandi Rice, on the other hand, the lamb was tender with its meat falling off the bone and it was pleasant to savour with the Mandi rice.
Simply delicious just eating this dish: very traditional dish, in fact, consisting very simply of rice and meat while the rice was aromatic heavenly flavoured with the juiced of the lamb. Just a little bit exotic and plenty delicious!
