Well, today Auntie Lilly would like to share a 'Home Tested & Approved' recipe on the blog. I finally found this homemade version recipe that's far healthier without MSG, preservatives and artificial colourings at all. On top of this, you can also adjust the saltiness to your liking.
I was inspired by my dear good friend of mine - Ruth Wong's cooking as she has been enjoying this gorgeous porky-licious luncheon meat while I drool over her IG posting all the time. My avid cook friend has shared this easy to prepare recipe with me, prompting me to try it too.
Auntie Lilly believe once you tried this recipe, you may not buy those expensive 'SPAM' since you're able to make this healthy preservative and flavouring free version at home for your family! Oh yes, credits go to Miki's Food Archives for sharing her wonderful recipe Recipe Luncheon Meat with us too.
This homemade version is made from fresh pork with 12 different kinds of seasonings such as Chicken Powder, 5 Spice Powder, Red Yeast Rice Powder, Soy Sauce, Tapioca Starch, Garlic, Egg White, Water, Oil, Sugar, Salt and Pepper.
Absolutely delicious and texture-wise, it's firmer and definitely a much healthier version with zero preservatives, additives and colouring threw in. This recipe is a keeper as its the family's favourite now!
