Chilling At The Bar

Sake With Dinner

STARTER
Wild Garden Salad that is served with Wakame Seaweed & Tofu on an Onion Dressing

Our food tasting experience starts off with an appetiser which is a fusion dish made out of a Wild Garden Salad that is served with Wakame Seaweed & Tofu on an Onion Dressing. As known to most Japanese salad will probably be served with a Wafu dressing.

STEAMED DISH
EBISU Chawanmushi

Japanese food is usually served with a different cooking style for a full course meal. After the cold dish, we now are served with a steaming dish. For this, we have the EBISU Chawanmushi which is EBISU special concoction of the Steamed Eggs Custard with Crab Sauce.

Again, Chef Ricky has used a specially brewed crab broth as the based for this Chawan Mushi and topped with Salmon Roe (Ikura) which pops up a savoury salty taste to the silky smooth eggs which make this dish exceptionally tasty. For me, this is the star of the night and a must-have the dish to try when dining here!

GRILLED DISH
 Teppanyaki Grilled Salmon

We were then served with a grilled item which the Chef has chosen to serve us a Teppanyaki dish. The name of the dish is Teppanyaki Grilled Salmon.

The fish is lightly pan-fried on the teppan while the fish skin is deep fried. The only slight drawback for my personal taste is that the fish was slightly overcooked thus resulting in a quite dry and not juicy enough to my liking while the fish skin was under-fried as it's not crispy with a chewy texture to it instead.

SUSHI PLATTER
Sushi Moriawase

A Japanese meal is not complete without a Sushi Dish. Here we were served the Sushi Moriawase with a selection of 7 different sushi which includes the likes of the Salmon Sushi, Ikura Sushi, Amaebi Sushi, Akami Sushi, Tamago Sushi, Hokkigai Sushi and Hamachi Sushi.

Hokkigai Sushi

 Salmon Sushi

Hamachi Sushi

 Akami Sushi

Amaebi Sushi

Ikura Sushi

DESSERT
 Sesame Ice Cream

For sweet endings to our dinner, the Sesame Ice-Cream and Sweet Azuki Bean Soup with sticky mochi are served as dessert to delight our tastebuds.

Zenzai
Sweet Azuki Bean Soup With Sticky Mochi

The housemade sesame ice cream is good and smooth, fragrant with the black sesame flavour while I find that the sweet red bean - Azuki bean soup a tad too sweet for me.
