GREYHOUND CAFE Ansa Bukit Bintang Kuala Lumpur

I’m a real fan of Thai cuisine. Who doesn’t love some sour and spicy goodness once in a while? Greyhound Café in Bukit Bintang serves up some tasty Thai fusion meals, which will surely tantalize your taste buds.

Located along the busy streets of Bukit Bintang, it is not difficult to find the restaurant. In fact, it is directly opposite Fahrenheit. I love the modern, chic vibe and how Instagram worthy it looks the moment I stepped in.

At Greyhound Café, you can look forward to enjoying a wide range of Thai dishes. Their menu is extensive, and I have tried out a couple few, which were recommended by the restaurant.

 Prawn Bisque with Fresh Cream
RM 27

This rich and luscious Prawn Bisque is heavenly. For me, it is a comfort food, something to warm your tummy on a cold rainy day. Super rich and flavoursome, highly recommended for those looking a creamy rich prawn bisque.

The cream wasn’t overwhelming, just the right amount of that perfect bisque consistency. Served with toasted crispy garlic brioche!

Italian Style Clam & Mussel Soup RM 27

If you’re a fan of herbs, you will enjoy this. Cooked with fresh clams and mussels, this soup has lots of tomatoes and basil leaves, which add to its intense flavour.

The toasted bread which was served along with the soup is a great accompaniment to fully enjoy the soup. In fact, I had the toasted bread and wiped out every last drop of the soup!

Fried Rice with Dried Salty Fish
RM 27

This fried rice was one of my personal favourite of the night. The dried salty fish which was served together with the rice was crunchy and gave that extra bite to the dish.

With every Thai dish, you can never miss out on the basil leaves, and there was quite a few in this. The basil leaves added interesting flavours to this dish, and is a definite must try!

Spicy Spaghetti Thai Style
RM 29

Spaghetti cooked in aglio olio style, with chillies, fresh peppercorns and basil leaves. You can choose to have this with seafood, beef or chicken.

Tenderloin Steak with Green Curry Sauce & Rice
RM 38

This dish was an interesting one. Initially, I thought that it was an unusual idea to combine my regular favourite beef steak with traditional Thai green curry flavour.

Little did I know that the combination was mind blowing and this was a fusion dish done the right way. The steak was medium-well done, just the way I like it and the rich green curry sauce was just a perfect addition to the meat.

A unique dish in the menu recommended for all steak lovers!

Blueberry Cheesecake
RM 18

This cheesecake is one of the best I’ve ever tried. Being a fan of cheesecake, I’ve never seen such a generous amount of blueberry in any cheesecake.

This wasn’t too sweet, and the cheesecake was just the right texture, soft and moist. Served with whipped cream and crushed almond.

Young Coconut Crepe Cake (RM 22)

This is my first time trying out coconut crepe cake. It was different than the usual crepe cake I’ve tried before as this one was loaded with coconut bits in between the cake layers.

This cake wasn’t too heavy as a dessert; it was filled with young coconut and whipped cream, a perfect ending to a nice meal.

Green Mellow
RM 16

Fresh Coconut Shake
RM 16

Fresh Coconut Shake is a refreshing drink, blended with real coconut.

If you’re around the bustling Bukit Bintang area, pop in the Greyhound Café and try out their Thai fusion dishes. Being in a high-density area, I’d expect the price of the food to be over the top. Surprisingly, most of the items on Greyhound’s menu is affordable and value for money.

It’s a great meet up place as well, with a good and relaxing environment to chill with family and friends. Perhaps you could grab a few shots in there while posing around the beautifully decorated restaurant too.
