Mak Siti Rendang Spices Powder or Serbuk Rempah Rendang
REMPAH RATUS MAK SITI BEEF RENDANG Recipe

Makes: 5 Servings
INGREDIENTS TO MARINADE
2 Packet Of Mak Siti Rendang Spice Powder (40gm)
INGREDIENTS TO BLEND (Herbs Paste)
- 2 red large onions
- 3 cloves garlic
- 1-inch ginger, remove skin
- 3 fresh turmeric root, remove skin
- 2 inches galangal
- 4 lemongrass
OTHER INGREDIENTS
- 1 kg beef, cut into 1.5-inch cubes
- 1/4 cup of oil
- 2-star anise
- 5 cloves
- 5 cardamons
- 1 tbsp chilli paste
- 2 tsp tamarind paste diluted with 1/2 a cup of water
- 2 tsp salt
- 3 tbsp palm sugar, grated
- 2 cups of coconut milk
- 2 tbsp Kerisik
- 3 pieces of Kaffir lime leaves
- 1 turmeric leaf, sliced finely

Massage The Rendang Spice Powder Over The Beef
Oil, Chilli Paste, Herbs Paste, Star Anise, Cardamon & Cloves
Coconut Milk, Tamarind Juice, Kaffir Lime Leaves & Palm Sugar
Kerisik, Turmeric Leaves & Salt
Mouth-Watering Tender & Flavourful Beef Rendang
COOKING INSTRUCTIONS
HOW TO COOK MAK SITI BEEF RENDANG
- Place the beef cubes in a bowl & sprinkle the Mak Siti Rendang Spice Powder over. Massage to marinate the fragrant spice powder over the beef & set aside to rest for 20 minutes.
- Heat up the cooking oil & when hot, saute/fry the blended ingredients, chilli paste, star anise, cardamon & cloves until fragrant.
- Put in the marinated beef cubes & stir for 20 seconds.
- Pour in the coconut milk, tamarind juice, kaffir lime leaves & palm sugar. Stir till combined.
- When it is almost dry, add the finely sliced turmeric leaves & salt to taste.
- Sprinkle with more finely sliced turmeric leaves over the Beef Rendang for garnishing when serving.
