Hey, have you heard of the Foodtopia Food Tour “Makan For Free” entry passes up for grabs at The Mines Shopping Mall (The Mines)?
Thanks to the wonderful invitation from The Mines, I recently went to the inaugural Foodtopia Food Tour that was launched at the shopping mall bringing a unique dining experience to customers. About 90 shoppers participated in this Foodtopia Food Tour held in conjunction with International Women’s Day at the mall.

To be eligible for the Foodtopia Food Tour, a free entry pass will be given when the customer signs up as CAPITASTAR member which is a loyalty program that rewards shoppers with minimum spend. Existing CAPITASTAR member received exclusive entry pass with minimum spending of RM30 in a single receipt. Thus, this was made available to the first 100 CAPITASTAR members only!

“Our goal at Foodtopia is to allow customers to enjoy the whole dining experience provided by the participating F&B outlets with food ranging from appetisers, mains and desserts. We are featuring 7 F&B outlets overlooking the unique canal feature this time around” says Paulin Lim, the Marketing Communications Manager of The Mines.
“Besides enjoying the mouth-watering dishes provided by our F&B outlets we want the customers to share the joy of dining with their loved ones, family and friends. Food is always better when it’s shared!” she added.

Signature foods and the must-try were prepared and presented by Almendi's, Chill2, DubuYo, Häagen-Dazs, Sepiring, Takio Ikayaki and Teppanyaki Malaysia.

The food tour, hosted by JC, celebrity radio deejay also featured activities such as lucky draw session at each participating F&B outlets to win dining vouchers as well as live interaction with the chefs and restaurant managers.

Asam Laksa comes serves with thick rice noodles in a sour and spicy fish broth, shredded mackerel and ginger flower while Keropok Lekor was the fried fish sticks with a sweet chilli dipping sauce.

During the FoodTopia Food Tour, we were served with a large tray of Yemeni Chicken Mendi, pretty amazing Arabic cuisine you must try!

Last but not least, our FoodTopia Food Tour ended with a sweet ending of heavenly Häagen-Dazs Ice Cream, that I believe no one can resist! The queue was long with foodies going after seconds or third tasting of the lip-smacking ice cream!

All-in-all, I have a wonderful tasting experience at the FoodTopia Food Tour. It was an eye-opening experience for me especially seeing the happy and contented faces of the lucky shoppers. People are happiest with food and it was fun and interesting getting to savour all seven F&B outlets at one go!
It was a well-organised event with each and every shopper winning lots and lots of food vouchers during the lucky draw that was held at every participating outlet and no one goes home empty-handed on that fun-filled day!
