I was lucky to be invited to join in this fun and exciting food event eating out of 12 Food Trucks all together in the country's largest food truck event at the Curve. The "HungryGoWhere Turns One - A Food Truck Fiesta" featured 12 food trucks offering a selections of food such as fusion pasta, burgers, sandwiches, burritos, pizzas, street food, juices, and coffee.

Thousands turn up at the event, weekend visitors to The Curve were caught surprised and welcomed the food truck concept. It was a fun outing for many that day especially the foodies like me as we had a field day getting to taste new and interesting food at one-go in a day.

From international offerings to local street favourites, the food truck fiesta offered something different for everyone who dropped. My family were spoilt for choice as we choose from a wide selection of food ranging from fusion pasta to burgers and burritos, put together by popular names such as SpagMe, Big Hug Burger and Laughing Monkey.

Happy Son with his Favourite ~ Cheesy Beef Nachos from Babarittos

Great family Food-Hunting Day for me and son

It was a fun outing for my family especially my son as he got to try all his favourites food ~ grilled meat burgers, smoked duck pasta, pizzas and his top choice was the 'Cheesy Beef Nachos'. There were Q&A sessions for everyone to win goodie bags, free meal vouchers, music performances, free nasi lemak give aways, balloons for children and radio station Red FM also did an outdoor broadcast live from the site.

Free Meal Vouchers for all

HungryGoWhere's idea of having a food truck fiesta epitomised the 'Kaki Makan Spirit' ~ the food-on-wheels celebration as food trucks are a growing in popularity and are not easy to find. Therefore, placing them all in one location for everyone to enjoy is their way of showing appreciation to their users for their loyal support.

At a press conference at the fiesta, HungryGoWhere country manager John Paul Sta Maria and chief executive officer Matt Whittingham introduced the new features of the revamped website.

The new website, which is a visual kaleidoscope of all the foods that Malaysians love, is the ultimate destination guide for both locals and tourists. Featuring a new map-based search function that provides directions to the restaurants. The new site also shows users top recommended restaurants, as well as reviews of the most talked-about cafes and dishes in town.

John Paul Sta Maria said, "We spent months meeting with our top customers to ask them what they want from an online food guide. When it comes to food reviews and guides, customers don't have to go anywhere else for recommendations - they only need to go HungryGoWhere. The new website is more intuitive and easier to access on all mobile devices."

In the mission to answer the often asked question, "Hungry lar, go where?" their food guide draws on the expertise of in-house reviewers, food writers, bloggers and the man on the street. Boasting of a database of over 45,000 photos and 250,000 reviews and rating covering every kind of establishment from mamak stalls to high-end  restaurants, with halal eateries clearly labelled. Whittingham added that HungryGoWhere was first and foremost a true and honest guide on food experiences. They are open to criticisms from customers and they can post their reviews; in turn, restaurant owners can also reply.

HungryGoWhere's mobile friendly website also allows users to rate and review restaurants, share photos on the spot and get the latest news on openings and promotions. Recipes for restaurant-quality dishes from top chefs, to traditional favourites of housewifes, are available to help anyone whip up a feast at home so users can 'Eat, Discover and Share' at a finger.

More Big Bites of My Big Hug Burger

Good Choice: Soft Shell Crab Burger ~ RM 8

My personal favourite at the food fiesta was none other than the Big Hug Burger - Speciality Soft Shell Crab Burger. So different, so innovative and the extra delicious burger I had ever eaten. Doing away from the usual meaty burger, they served a seafood version burger to tempt your palate.

Crispy Soft shell Crab and Crab legs topped with cheddar cheese, Thai salad, fresh lettuce and smothered with Ebiko mayo on soft sesame seed bun. I enjoyed the light taste and crispiness of the crab together with the flavourful Ebiko mayo which was dripping off my burger. Simply burger-licious!

  3. Product Promotion:Food trucks do more than feed hungry people. Some food trucks actually double as roaming billboards, promoting products and taking product samples and messaging directly to the public. Food Truck
