Unforgettable Cafe with Delicious Bites of Breakfast from all over the World

The decision to name his cafe 'BITES' came about because owner Robin Lim wanted something instantly memorable for patrons. Offering sweet bites, big bites, small bites and early bites, Bites serves a menu melding Western and Asian ranging selection dishes to please all tastes.

Your gastronomic adventure at Bites starts in an endless parade of colours, textures and flavours from every corner of the globe, artistically fused together for an unforgettable multicultural experience. Starting with the breakfast offerings from Malaysian, American, French, Italian, Japanese, Mexican to Swiss, patrons will be spoilt for choice. 

With more than 50 dishes on the menu, with 18 choices for the mains (Big Bites) and 18 choices for the breakfast sets (Early Bites) and not forgetting with 19 choices for desserts (Sweet Bites), we had to limit ourselves to some of the more popular and well-known dishes at Bites Cafe during the review.

Cozy Corner for Two

A nice new addition in the neighbourhood in Lake Fields, good place for everyone to sit back relax and enjoy a good cup of coffee. This all-day dining cafe is always filled to the brim with hungry patrons and have been enjoying a steady flow of diners since opening a few months ago. A new place that is here to stay!

For coffee selections, we started our meal with 2 of Bites specials ~ Affogato served with crushed cranberry almond biscotti with Pandan Kaya Ice Cream and Coconut Ice Cream.

You can never go wrong with Affogato, an shot of espresso with rich aroma drizzled over the creamy ice cream. Truly satisfying, goes so well with the mild flavour coconut ice cream.

Club Sandwich Waffle

RM 12.90

One of the most interesting dishes is the Club Sandwich Waffle. Bites best selling item is made of crispy thin waffles served with beef bacon, egg, lettuce, cheese, tartare sauce and salad. I never had it so good before with club sandwiches, the waffles were thin and crispy and every bite was so full- filling. 

Highly recommended and a must have breakfast for the super hungry diners. A new addition to my of Auntie Lilly's comfort food. Yummy! 

Classic: The French

A wholesome breakfast of French toast with chicken ham, melted cheese, maple syrup & topped with sunny side up was another appetising breakkie to check out if you like the savoury french toast. Tummy filling with melted cheese and ooey-gooey runny egg yolks, this is another lip-smacking bites to try.

Hot Pick: The Italian

Egg lovers can opt for the Italian breakfast, which is a breakfast frittata with turkey ham, onions, spinach, cherry tomato and eggs. Simple but delightfully delicious, cooked with 4 eggs per serving and generous portion of turkey ham, this is one breakfast offering no one can resist not having.

It was so delicious that everyone snap it up as soon as it was served on the table that day. We ended up having a second order for the appetising frittata breakfast as it was seriously not enough to be shared among us during this review.

Exotic: The Mexican

Next is the Mexican Breakfast, which many might not be familiar with. Bites's variant of this popular Mexican food sees these burritos consists of wheat tortillia wrapped into a cylindrical shape to enclose the filling of chicken sausage, egg, mushroom and cheese. All-in-one breakfast is a good meal and best eaten to fill a hungry stomach as it's sufficient to line your stomach without leaving you bloated.

Grilled Chicken & Waffle Sandwich

For those with a heavier appetite in the late hours of the morning, Bites offers simple but filling dishes like Grilled Chicken & Waffle Sandwich and Egg Benedict. Bites version of grilled chicken comes with sauteed mushroom. melted cheese and bathe with savoury mushroom sauce while topped with a sunny side up. Simple dish is excellent in its execution.

My personal favourite ~ I loved the crispy waffle, so tasty especially when eaten with the home made mushroom sauce. Hearty and comforting, serving portion was good and I think it's a steal when priced at RM 15.90 only.

Egg Benedict

RM 17.90

Bites has other great early bites like Egg Benedict. Poached eggs served with smoked Salmon, sautéed mushroom with onions, Hollandaise sauce, toast and salad. I like the thick servings with generous ingredients thrown in, ful-filling dish but not too heavy on the stomach. 

Bites servings are quite prominent with their shimeji mushrooms on almost every dish. Their chefs are most probably very fond of  healthy mushrooms. Good choice, I like this! 

Breakfast Pizza

RM 14.90

A very addictive crispy crust pizza base, deliciously topped with beef bacon, egg, baby spinach, baked beans, mushroom, and cheese. A light breakfast and good for sharing with family or friends.

Potato Salad

RM 9.90

Bites Potato Salad was both creamy and thick. Big chunky of potato coated in mayo dressing garnished with crispy ham bits for extra flavour. Noteworthy dish to try.

Beef Bacon & Shrimp Pasta

RM 18.90

A good and simple dish, traditional spaghetti aglio olio was really delicious, combined with lots of mushrooms, fresh prawns and beef bacon thrown in. The moist and aromatic pasta was well cooked - ala dente making it an easy, comfort food in terms of it quality and standard.

Grilled Salmon Fillet on Crispy Potato Cake

Salmon never fails to entice me whenever I go. Rich with essential nutrients especially protein and omega-3 fatty acids, I enjoyed eating Bites Grilled Salmon Fillet on Crispy Potato Cake with its silky orangey flesh and lightly grilled with crisp skin. Simply outstanding, especially when relished with the savoury home made mushroom sauce, sautéed asparagus and the little bites of the crunchy bits of the shredded potato cake.  

Berries & Banana Pancake

RM 10.90

Diners looking for sweet breakfast bites, can opt for Berries & Banana Pancake. Great tasting, gluten-free flapjacks are comfort food at its finest. Hearty, healthy vegan pancakes will satisfy your sweet tooth especially served with berries compote, whipping cream and maple syrup on the side. Wholesome breakfast and light on the stomach, these fluffy vegan banana pancakes are one of the best excuses to have a nice and delightful break from the usual kaya & butter toast breakfast.   

Next comes the Sweet Bites. One can be spoilt for choice with 19 varieties of choice dessert to choose from such as exotic waffles with Salted Gula Melaka ice cream,  Horlicks Caramel ice cream cake to Mascarpone cake, Japanese Cheese cake and even a Nutella & Banana pizza. 

Nutella Pizza with Strawberry and Banana

One of my favourite sweet bites was this unassumingly simple banana and strawberry pizza. I never had a pizza for dessert before, so I was in for a real treat-literally. While sweet pizza may sound odd, there was really nothing strange with topping a neutral-tasting crust with sweet instead of savoury. 

Trust me, nothing can get any better than Nutella + Banana + Stawberry on a super crispy thin crust pizza. This little 'pie' sure to please everyone from kids to adults. 

Dessert Waffle topped with Gula Melaka Ice Cream

Our Dessert Waffle topped with Gula Melaka Ice Cream was the perfect way to end brunch. A sweet treat with its super light and crisp waffles topped with rich flavour gula melaka ice cream. One of Bites best seller dessert, this is a must have for any dessert lovers! 

Home made Specialty Ice Creams from The Last Polka

For the final act, we ended our amazing bites with the Foodinkers, sharing Bites home made specialty ice cream from The Last Polka ~ great tasting home made ice cream in Kuala Lumpur. Made with 100% natural ingredients, combination of creamy French-style ice cream with the regional Asian flavours you love.

All-in-all, Bites Cafe is a great place to relax and dine with family. Good place for chilling out with your besties too as the place is picture-pretty with its unique décors, cute 3D snoozing bears bean bags, fancy retro wall photos with meaningful quotes providing a cozy ambiance and cafe experience for their patrons. Out to be a popular joint among the young and trendy crowd, this a pork-free establishment known for its impressive breakfast dishes and heavenly desserts. 

So if you're looking for a new place to chill out for some amazing bites, do give Bites a try. You might be in for a few surprises and that I can bet on it!
