Hi guys... I would like to share my exciting and fun experience on my day out trip at MAHA 2016 this time. If you're still wondering what MAHA 2016 stands for, it's actually the Malaysia Agriculture, Horticulture & Agrotourism 2016. MAHA 2016, is happening now from 1st to 11th of December 2016 at Malaysia Agro Exposition Park Serdang (MAEPS) from 10am to 10pm daily.
MAHA 2016 Brand New NAFAS CUBE At Mardi
I have been to the MAHA annual event many years ago when my children were still young. There so many things to see, play, explore and eat while spending our family time together at MAHA event. For those who have not been to MAHA before, I suggest you should take some time off during this weekend to pay a visit with your family or friends.
Well, let's take you on a quick tour of my day trip ~ being out and about at MAHA 2016. Come follow me to eat, play and explore the whole new attractions MAHA 2016 have to offer to you this time!
Layout Map To MAHA 2016
Surrounded by lush greenery and well-kept grounds, the Malaysia Agro Exposition Park Serdang (MAEPS) offers the perfect setting for MAHA 2016. Away from the hustle and bustle of the city, this unique venue provides a relaxing environment for visitors to enjoy the event. One of the largest exhibition complexes in Asia, MAEPS boasts a total floor space of 42,000 square metres spread across several exhibition halls. Its comprehensive range of facilities and services includes various agricultural showgrounds and park attractions.
The MAHA 2016 event, that takes place together with The Farmers, Livestock Producers and Fishermen’s Day (HPPNK) programme, actively promotes agriculture and agro-based industries, showcasing all the different components of this fast-growing industry.
NAFAS CUBE @ Mardi
My first pit stop is at the Nafas Cube @ Mardi ~ A brand new concept of accommodation where guests can stay at the calm and peaceful agro park for a short getaway. This is a collaboration between Mardi and National Farmers Organization (NAFAS) for everyone to get a taste of rural living away from the city and be back into nature to unwind and destress altogether.

Guests can choose to stay in Nafas Cube Tents, Tubes and Containers based on your budget and liking. I was told that prices are quite affordable from RM 120 to RM250 per night. Families should opt for the adjoining container where mum and dad can have privacy in their own 'room' whereby kids can stay at another adjoining room next door where they are linked together.

I loved the concept of the built up of the hotels, seriously. Using only steel containers and large cement tube, the whole place was built and transformed into chic and colourful pleasant park within 2 months. A wonderful, fresh and green concept which I believe appeals to everyone!

If you like to camp out for a different experience, choose their tents to be nearer to the nature. The NAFAS Cube tents are laid as camping site along the lake.

My daughter, Clarrisha Hong and I were both mesmerized with the simple and laid back atmosphere that Nafas Cube @ Mardi has to offer. We hope to come back again for a getaway stay at these cute and comfortable Nafas Cube @ Mardi when time permits! Finger-crossed :-)

UGC - Urban Green Cabin With Their Amazing Tropicarium
Our next pit stop is at the DOF Valley - Fisheries Department where we were treated to an interesting demonstration of how a tropicarium works with the new technology of using our handphone to control and monitor the system.
Look Close Enough For Those Insects
The company by the name of UGC - Urban Green Cabin has created for a man-made ecosystem that is self-sustain, just like the tropical rainforest where you can keep insects and even frogs in the controlled environment.

Getting crazier in this fun house but I can assure you that young and old alike will love this experience when visiting the fun house!

An educational experience awaits you at MAHA 2016 - Laman Padi Bernas. We were given a short demonstration on how the rice husk is removed and polished by an All-In-One DIY Machine.

My next stop is one of favourite place to check out. I always loved fresh pineapples, especially the sweet ones, and I can assure you that you are getting some of the best pineapples in town!

Our next stop is the Laman Jentera. Remember to drop by this stop if you have young children especially those that are truly fond of big tractors. If you like, perhaps your kid can climb up the big green and blue tractors to pose for some photos just like how my daughter and I are doing!

Before we move on to the Veterinary and Livestock ~ Laman Ternakan, we took a short break and tasted some real delicious premium jack fruit ice cream.

Feeding Time
At the Laman Ternakan, we were given an opportunity to feed the animals. It was true fun as it's my first time feeding a goat. These goats are bred for their milk.
The Belgian Blue Cow is low in fat, high in protein with very tender meat in texture.

The Floriculture is an interesting place to visit if you are fond of plants. As we enter the park, we were greeted with some unique and peculiar in shape type of melon plants hanging above our heads.

KELULUT MINI BEE FARM
Kelulut Bee House
See the little white box used to house the Kelulut bee nest. Kelulut is sometimes known as the stingless honey bees or simply meliponines. What’s really special about these bees is they are stingless – and known as Trigona or Kelulut in Malaysia.

As you can see the Kelulut nest structure are totally different from the regular bees. The stingless bee honey is also called Mother Medicine and certainly has a lot of nutrients contains many vitamins and minerals that is high in amounts of nutrients and antioxidants beneficial for health.

It was my first time tasting Kelulut Honey direct from the stingless bees, or meliponines nest ~ Super food contains up to 10 times more antioxidants than regular honey. Truly an eye-opening experience for me at MAHA 2016! 😍😍😍

The Light Sensation was MAEPS attraction a few months back where people were queuing to get in to watch the wonderful display of these lovely light sensation in the evening. Concerts will be held too on this weekends and the lucky winner might be able to walk away with a brand new iPhone 7.
UPIN & IPIN - KAMPUNG DURIAN RUNTUH
Those who are fans of Malaysian famous cartoon character Upin & Ipin should come by soon. 3D Wall Art, interactive activities, live performances and much more are available to keep the young children entertained.

All-in-all, it has been a super fun and eye-opening experience for my family and me at the MAHA 2016. There are some much things to see, watch, explore and taste (many free-tasting booths) at this once-in-a-year event. New technology, new concept and new inventions are all for us to check out this MAHA 2016.
